How long until hair highlights start to grow out?

I thinking of highlighting my hair... I've done it before... but I cant remember how long the highlights stayed looking normal... How long does it usually take for highlights to start growing out and making my roots more visable?

I am a hair stylist and the highlights grow out on the rate of your hair growing. and it also depends on if they fade out of your hair. But for example if your hair grows really fatsthen the highlights will grow out really fast. Or how many times you wash it if you throughly wash they will fade faster. well, if you think about it, they start growing out immediately, of course, but as far as how long till it shows, that depends on the contrast between your real hair color and the color of the highlights, but i'd say 2 to 3 weeks.

mnine take about a month or so, but you can usually put off getting the roots touched up for a few months, since they don't start to even become that nnoticeable for a few months - atleast for me with the colors that I use
