You get cancer when your immune system is not working properly. Normally abnormal cells are taken care of thru this system, recognized as an "invader" they are wiped out. If the immune system has been weakened by stress, illness, etc, it sometimes fails. Check out Lorraine Day's videos, she's an MD who I believe had Stage 4 breast cancer and chose to fight it by beefing up her immune system. She did not take chemo or radiation. They are looking to IgA, IgD, IgE, IgG, and IgM specific immunoglobulins as future cancer treatments. Once an antibody is formed in response to a foreign invader it can usually keep the invader in check or kill it completely. Once these antibodies are formed they also have memory so if that same type of cell returns it is destroyed. Keep a healthy immune system and you may never have to worry about cancer. Lorraine Day advocates a healthy diet, foods like veggies and fruits in their natural state, grains, sunshine, exercise, some promote yoga, a normal sleep cycle, and DESTRESS, learning to get rid of unhealthy residue in your life! She also promotes recognition of a higher power and prayer. She's a very interesting lady.

Cancer can be caused by many things from prolonged exposure to harmful chemicals to a hereditary disease in your family. Cancer is caused when there is a mutation in the DNA or RNA, which is what makes up every single person's traits. Sometimes it takes just 2 mutations to cause cancer while other people can endure many more before getting cancer. Things like tobacco and UV rays can cause cancer. Also tumors can form from an uncontrollable growth of cells. This means that when cells reproduce usually when there is no space left they stop, cancer cells do not stop they keep growing and growing. I hope this helped.

The is no answer to this question ... a combination of environmental factors and genetic influence and susceptibility. There is no specific way or else i think there would be medicine to cure it by now. But scientists are working on it. I heard drinking green tea can help prevent it though.
