Diet and high cardio. Do a lot of endurance work-outs like sprints and high reps of low weight. If you can bench 160 lbs, do 50-100 pushups a day instead of benching. If you usually do 12-15 reps of 25 lb bicep curls, do 30-40 with 8 lbs.
One thing that holds back is water content. To get really ripped and see the veins and fiber bundles moving in your body, you need to cut water consumption by 2/3s. You're dehydrating yourself, but you'll get a cut look. That's what weight lifters do.
Also, eat ONLY fruits and veggies. Only lean meats like chicken, fish, and pork. NO BEEF. NO PROCESSED BREADS. Eat some pasta, but once every other day, and it needs to be whole wheat or heavy grain.

Hello! There are no shortcuts to a healthy lifestyle. You either live it, or you don't. It is an everyday practice. There is only one way to 'tone': decrease body fat with diet and exercise, and weight training. Those whose muscles are visible without flexing have earned it through hard work, and you must do the same in order to have what they have.

Yoga and Pilates will make you look absolutely fantastic. I promise. Men tend to totally underestimate what stretching can do for their bodies. If you don't want to do it at the gym - get the DVDs. I use them at home and I guarantee you, you will not recognize yourself after 30 days or so. You will sleep better, feel better and build muscles without being a gym rat. Good luck.

Running... wash your car regularly... swimming most definitely... of course, a regular healthy diet will help a lot. Lots of protein by the way... that'll help tone your body fast. Soy milk, fish, chicken (no skin) and steak. Carbs are important. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Cut down on the sugar and salt. Salt makes you bloat (by water retention) giving you the illusion that you're fat.

Losing weight is a simple equation: if you burn more calories than you eat, the weight will come off. Start off by estimating how many calories you burn each day using the calorie calculator http://straighthealth.com/pages/tools/caloriecalclb.html This will give you an idea of how many calories to eat. Healthy weight loss is 1-2 pounds per week. To lose 1 pound per week you need to create a calorie deficit (burn more than you eat) of 500 calories per day. To lose 2 pounds a week, you have to double the deficit to 1000 calories per day. You can achieve this by eating less, exercising more or a combination of both.
