1. Make sugared bread crumbs as an ice cream topping.
2. Tear into very small pieces and use to make meatballs or Italian meatloaf with mozzarella filling.
3. Cut into cubes and toss with tomatoes, green peppers, onions, garlic and Italian dressing to make Panzanella (Tusacan bread salad).
4. Mix together 1 cup grated asiago cheese, 1/3 cup mayonnaise, ¼ cup chopped garlic chives, 1 Tbs. each fresh minced parsley, oregano, and lovage. and ¼ tsp. ground pepper. Spread the cheese mixture on the bread slices and arrange them on an ungreased baking sheet. Then bake or broil until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and slightly browned. Serve them hot or cold, you'll love them!

Make French toast. Wisk a few eggs with some milk and a little vanilla. You could add some cinnamon to the mixture too if you like. Soak your bread (And it's GREAT with French or Ital. bread) in the mixture, and cook on a skillet or large frypan over med. heat until nicely brownd on both sides. Put a little butter on each cooked slice and enjoy with some REAL maple syrup that's been warmed. Add berries too if you have them
Another topping which may sound strange... try some nice jam on top of your French toast. I put the syrup on one slice, and jam on another. You end up getting that nice mixture of the flavors and the syrup all at once. No so far fetched if you like fruit on top.)

Mmmm mmmm... clever ideas on your part!
I often dice it, toss it with olive oil, spread it on a pan, sprinkle with salt and cheese and whatever herb I'm in the mood for and then bake up croutons. Pretty obvious, but way better than store bought.
It also makes the best French Toast.
OK, I need to go eat now...

I either make croutons for salad, or whiz them in the food processor for bread crumbs and put them in the freezer. Or make stuffing. Can't let bread go to waste!
