I have that cook book right here before me. It's called 500 Recipes - for Cooking for One by Catherine Kirkpatrick. I've had it since the 1970s. Of course you are probably going to get a more modern book than this one but it's a start if it will help you.
Here are the details:
First published 1963; fifth impression 1970; reprinted 1972 Copyright The Hamlyn Publishing Group Limited 1963
Paul Hamlyn Pty. Ltd.
Sydney - London - New York - Toronto
SBN 600 03405 4
Printed and bound at The Griffin Press, Netley, South Australia
Katie Stewart has 500 Recipes for Cooking for Two as well.
I hope this has helped.

I have one with that name which was part of a series.
They were written in the 60's so are considerably dated now.
Edited by Culinary Arts Institute.
There is a reference to Processing and Books, Inc., Chicago Illinois.

The taste of home magazine line has cooking for one or two. Check reimen publishing for a selection or do a web search for taste of home. I have been a subscriber for years and I find these magazines to be a great resource for good old fashioned home cooking, because the contributors are home cooks like you and I, not professional chefs with complicated instructions or ingredients. Good luck and happy cooking! :o)

I have one called "Cooking for Two (Or Just You)". I got it from Amazon.com. Every recipe has two different amounts of ingredients. And it's a pretty healthy cookbook too!

There probably is, but try cooking a larger amount, especially on weekends when you have time, and freeze it or put some in the fridge. With Indian, Mexican, Italian, it is better the next day anyway. Nuke leftovers in the microwave.

YES!! There are TONS of them. Go to a large bookstore and start flipping through the books in the cooking section. Several companies make cookbooks for one. Find the one that appeals to you the most and buy it! That's what I did. I bought the one by Betty Crocker because it had LOTS of pictures and was simple and easy to understand.

There are several books out for cooking for one or two people. Another advantage is you can freeze some casseroles for eating later if you have a recipe that makes enough for four. But there have been many cookbooks for single people.
