Weaker at what? They are certainly stronger in many ways, as you point out. We should never be in competition with each other, we need each other to survive.

OK, I see a lot of pretty lame answers here. Most men are stronger in all aspects of life.

Example: We have a new puppy. And we have two other dogs. All three were outside and one of our dogs bit the puppy. I, (a man) ran outside immediately. The puppy had blood coming out of his nose. I picked him up and tried to see what was causing the blood flow. My girlfriend stood there crying, her daughter did nothing but yell, "call the Vet, call the Vet." I told my girlfriend to get me a wet rag so I could clean his nose off a little and try to see the problem. And actually the bite was minor but broke though his nasal passage, which caused a lot of blood. I got the bleeding under control and he didn't even need a visit to the Vet.

Was I a hero? Of course not. But as most men do and women don't do, I acted immediately to help the puppy. My girlfriend stood there crying. Her daughter yelling, "call the Vet." Do women have more emotions then men? Yes. Is that a good thing? Not always. Women usually think with emotions and their own comfort. Men usually act without emotion to fix the problem at hand. Are men more aggressive then women? Yes. Is that a bad thing? No. Only sometimes. Being aggressive is what saved our puppy from losing much more blood then he did.

Thumbs down, if you want but it is the truth.

Most women don't like to admit it, but physically, we are weaker. Emotionally is another thing altogether.

Since women are permitted in society to be more emotional, they're also stronger at dealing with those emotions and less likely to develop physical problems with their body.

For that reason, men and women are both strong, but in different areas.

Now, they are considered the weaker sex because men got sick of the feminine ruling that had happened before the advent of Christianity and turned them into something evil with Christianity. They did everything they could to oppress women, even lying about them.

As for god... god has nothing at all to do with any of it because god does not exist.

That is such an archaic view. I don't think either men or women are "superior" to the other. There are some women who are smarter than some men and some men that are smarter than some women. Same goes for physical strength, cooking skills, etc. I can kick the crap out of a lot of the guys at my school, but I'm sure there are some guys that could do the same to me. I am smarter than most of the guys at my school, but there are a few that are smarter than me. We are not limited by our gender and neither are men. Every individual has their own strengths and weaknesses. Maybe if certain guys got their noses out of the air, they could see that.

Depend on how do you look at the women. Actualy women consider as a weaker sex just because we don't have the good arms that men do, but we are very stonger than them in many other things.

We can plan in same time many things, we can bring child to this world and we can easily do many things that men never can not deal with.

Yeah, I think it does have a little to do with the physical aspect -- in general women are weaker than men. Not being sexist -- my boyfriend is in the military and there are different fitness standards for women than men.

I think that while men are stronger physically, women are stronger emotionally and can take a lot more stress.

Women are only considered the "weaker" sex pertains solely to the laws of physics, or regards only physical strength, thus the fact remains that most women are every bit as capable in competing with men in all other aspects of life...

It is really a wrong concept. Woman are not weak. They exhibit much tolerance, much forbearance with the other family members. They silently bear their travails and bring up the children, feed them even at the cost of their hunger. There are several mothers who feed the young children well but they starve consuming water and few morsels of food. You can never measure the patience of woman. Whereas man folk are egoistic, selfish, etc. They never tolerate even small troubles. There may be exceptions in both the categories. But I have given a general view.

Mainly it because women are emotional. A woman's judgment has a lot to do with emotions.

God made man the head over the woman. But this does not mean for men to belittle them. The bible says husbands love your wives as Christ loved the church.

A famous quote once said "God made man the head, but he made woman the neck. She can turn him which ever way she wants to."

Maybe you are overgeneralizing. As you grow older, you will meet women totally devoid of sincerity, totally incapable of expressing emotion and totally repulsive. By contrast, you will also meet sincere, emotional and charming men.

As for the "weaker sex," I think it stems from the biblical story of Man being first created by God, and Woman created from one of Adam's Ribs...leading to the conclusion that women could not exist if there were not men. That has been twisted over the centuries by weak-minded men who need to control women, like Osama Bin Laden, who fear educated women will not need them. Usually this generalization about them is most strongly used by men with low self image who need to find someone weaker than themselves to assert their control and power over.

The world is full of weak people. Not all of them are women.

I think because women tend to be way more sensitive than men they are considered weak but being sensitive shouldn't make you a weaker sex but it does to most men.
