First you become an MD. Then 1 year internship. Then 3-4 surgical residency. Another 2 years if you want to be on your own.

As the others have told you, you get your MD first and then go on to a specialty.

Up until last year I was a math instructor at a state university. My pre-med students informed me that med schools seem to be looking for math and physics majors these days. It might be a good idea to ask some med schools what they're looking for. My guess is that they want med students who know how to think! I'm 62 and the two unfortunate things I've noticed about a lot of doctors (not all of them) in my lifetime are:

(1) They're doing cookbook medicine. Anything that wasn't in the textbooks when they were in school doesn't exist anywhere but in the patient's head. It's as if they've been programmed instead of educated.

(2) They tend to be egotistical and arrogant. The patient comes to them desperately seeking help and leaves traumatized.

My degrees were in physics. The first day of my first physics course in college, the professor told us not to get too attached to anything we were learning, because it was just the best idea we had at the moment about the way things worked. Physics taught us not to get all ego-attached to current theories, a valuable lesson for future doctors.

Several years later I took courses in anatomy and physiology and discovered that, because I was a physicist, I had an understanding of the human body that was way beyond that of the other students. I think a surgeon would find physics especially valuable.

Want to be surgeon but not to be a doctor??? What do you mean? You can't become surgeon if you don't want to be a doctor. But if you want become a surgeon, you must major in Biology and Alchemistry.

If you're a surgeon, but not a doctor, you'd be breaking the law. You need a medical license to practice surgery.

Most doctors do NOT major in biochemistry. I think most major in biology, but I could be wrong. It doesn't matter what you major in. It could be art history, as long as you take the science courses you need.

You don't choose a specialty until you are almost done with medical school.

Yo need to concern yourself with getting into med school first.

If you plan on performing surgery without first finishing medical school, I'd suggest pre-law or criminal justice. In the UK, there's a social distinction that gives a nod to history, but I think you're carrying things a bit too far. In the US, you'll need your MD or DO degree before you start your surgical residency, so you may want to take things a step at a time.

A surgeon is a doctor.

First you become a doctor, then you become a surgeon.

Good luck!

First you need a time machine. It has been a very long time since surgeons and physicians were separate professions. Although you can find some people who think that the separation was a step in the wrong direction.

I think you would find most good shcools have a premed program that focuses on Biology, Biochemistry. The idea is that you hae to take a tough science oriented curriculum in your freshman year, and if you can't hack it, you probably aren't cut out for medical school. To get into med school you have to get top grades in a difficult curriculum. Good med schools in Pa -- U of Penn., Pittsburgh come to mind off the top of my head.
