She is entitled to her belief, as you are to yours. If it bothers you this much, sit down and have a simple chat with her.

The word "baptizo" literally means "to immerse."

Sprinkling is in fact not the ritual Jesus underwent at the Jordan. That was the "baptism for the remission of sins" and a ritual of washing off all sins.

The Christian baptism is a ritual of burial and rebirth. Thus we have the Apostle Paul write:

Romans 6:4 "We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life."

Sprinking, again, is not the ritual and does not have the same ritual meaning. Only immersion is Biblical. Sprinkling is actually a ritual of blessing intended to magically douse the believer in power imparted to the Holy Water by the ritual of blessing the water.which is in fact not a Biblical method of baptism at all.

Those in the Church of Christ do believe in the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. However, they believe that the baptism of the HS was for a limited time and purpose. Every example in the NT where HS baptism was specified was accompanied by miracles of some sort and COC teaches that miracles have passed.

Water Baptism -- Sprinkle or Immerse?
The Bible Says , "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins. . ." (Acts 2:38). There is therefore no question as to whether or not you should be baptized. The questions are how, when, and by whom?
It would also seem clear from scripture that those who were baptized, were fully immersed in water. Here's one reason why:

"And John was also baptizing in Aenon near to Salim, because there was much water there..." (John 3:23).

If John was merely sprinkling believers, he would have only needed a cup full of water.

The Philippian jailer and his family were baptized at midnight, as soon as they believed. So what are you waiting for?

Who should baptize you? It is clear from Scripture that other believers had the privilege, but check with your pastor, he may want the honor himself.

actually youre both right and wrong
let me clear up the baptism issue first
she is correct in the fact the lord commanded we be baptised in water, after being born again. What you are saying is also true, but baptism of the spirit is recieving of the holy spirit. Also, the Bible is NOT mans words buts the word of God given to man and written down, Hope that helps

Ephesians 4:4-5 says now "there is... one baptism." If we've the two Spirit baptism and water baptism, then there are 2 baptisms. So, which baptism is the single baptism . Which one became commanded interior the super value in Mark sixteen:sixteen and Matthew 28:18-20? it incredibly is important notice that Spirit baptism became a promise and in no way a command. It became additionally promised at a particular time, Jesus advised his apostles, "Ye would be baptized with the Holy Ghost no longer many days subsequently." (Acts a million:5) notice this became promised to a particular set of persons ("ye" = the apostles) and at a particular time ("no longer many days subsequently") This promise became fulfilled in Acts 2. This Holy Spirit baptism became to substantiate the be conscious preached. This and the accompanying signs and warning signs have been to proceed till "that that's suited is come" (a million Corinthians 13:10). The be attentive to God is asserted as "the suited regulation of liberty". (James a million:25) those signs and warning signs grew to grow to be no longer mandatory after the recent testomony became carried out. The be conscious became shown whilst it became given and does no longer might desire to be shown returned. We see in spite of the undeniable fact that interior the recent testomony that water baptism became a commandment. (Acts 10:40 seven-40 8) Water baptism became practiced (Acts 8:38), and commanded interior the recent testomony, subsequently it became (is) the "one baptism" (Eph. 4:5) Water baptism "now saves" like 8 souls have been saved by using water interior the days of Noah. (a million Peter 3:20-21) It became God who saved Noah, and whilst we are baptized, it incredibly is God that saves us "interior the direction of the ressurection of Jesus Christ". To obey Christ, we would desire to be baptized (Mark sixteen:sixteen, Acts 2:38). "And being made suited, he grew to grow to be the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him." (Hebrews 5:9)

Umm Jesus said in John 3

John 3
1There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews:

2The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.

3Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

4Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?

5Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

6That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

7Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.

(Romans 6:5 KJV) For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:
(Romans 6:6 KJV) Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
(Romans 6:7 KJV) For he that is dead is freed from sin.

(Ephesians 4:5 KJV) One Lord, one faith, one baptism
