The cap badge of the Royal Anglian reflects the make-up of the regiment; being formed by the merger of a number of previous outfits.

The background is the silver star of the Garter, formerly used by The Royal Lincolnshire and Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire Regiments.

The other elements are the Castle and Key of Gibraltar which originates from the 12th Foot (Suffolk Regiment) who were a key player in Great Siege of Gibraltar 1779 - 83.

Also worth noting that the Royal Anglians form part of the Queen's Division, which also encompasses the Royal Gibraltar Regiment.

Hope that helps.
