It is true that Jehovah's Witnesses have been terribly persecuted for decades, often at risk to their health and life.

Even under Satanic persecution, a typical Jehovah's Witness works to ensure the safety and good health of his loved ones and himself.

Yet all Christians well-understand that one's eternal salvation must sometimes have priority over one's immediate safety or health. For example, an ungodly householder might choose to kill an unarmed minister, based on some ostensible interest in "protecting" the household or possessions; is it reasonable to believe that such an imagined "hazard" would persuade heaven to ignore the householder's affront to bible principles? Another person might feel that the failure of one of his bodily organs is sufficiently "hazardous" to his health, and choose to kidnap a compatible "donor" and then "harvest" those organs for himself; is it reasonable to believe that heaven would tolerate such disregard for God's laws?

What do the Gospels teach about those who elevate their own preferences above God's laws? What do the Gospels teach about those who value a few months or years of troubled life in this system of things more highly than the trouble-free eternity of perfection guaranteed by God and Christ?

(Matthew 16:25) For whoever wants to save his soul will lose it; but whoever loses his soul for my sake will find it.

(Mark 8:35) For whoever wants to save his soul will lose it; but whoever loses his soul for the sake of me and the good news will save it.

(Luke 17:33) Whoever seeks to keep his soul safe for himself will lose it, but whoever loses it will preserve it alive.

(John 12:25) He that is fond of his soul destroys it, but he that hates his soul in this world will safeguard it for everlasting life.

Truly, being a true Christian (such as a Jehovah's Witness) works to ensure the best possible health for the longest possible time. A selfish life which ignores God and Christ seems at greatest risk of a permanent and untimely end, which Christians understand to mean 'anything short of eternity'.

(John 5:15) It was Jesus that made him sound in health

(Acts 15:29) If you carefully keep yourselves from these things, you will prosper. Good health to you!”

(1 Timothy 6:3-4) If any man teaches other doctrine and does not assent to healthful words ...he is puffed up with pride, not understanding anything, but being mentally diseased over questionings and debates about words. From these things spring envy

Interesting... "From these things spring envy" (1 Tim 6:4).

The bible speaks of true friends who tend to agree with bible principles in these (and other) matters.

Some have several accounts and use them to discredit Jehovah's witnesses. One even told me about it saying on here he was from a witness family when I know his family and they are all Babtist. So for those of you who are lying.
That is against one of the ten commandments. you do still believe in them don't you? Would you sin against God just to swear false testimony against Jehovah's witnesses?
That Doctor on Answers that can't spell? I have to question his motives and grammar. What college did he go to?
Some are so obivious lying it isn't even funny?
come on we are not that stupid.

No/Yes. Having most any values can be hazardous at some point. The are hateful people against most any group. However, we get comforted by our beliefs, and fellowship. Also studies show that those who use their minds more, keep them sharper longer, so we could consider our constant reading/studying of the Bible a plus. While we all have our own imperfections the fact that we believe in sex only in marraige, and we believe in honesty, the chances of finding out we have an STD our significantly reduced.

As for the Q about A_H, I would assume that only He/She could answer that. Not sure why you ask. If it is because of the amount of votes for his/her answers, I do know that at one point he/she sent out emails to several people letting them know when a Q he/she answered was open for voting.

Jehovah's Witnesses are normal people who face the same health problems as most people. But compared to others they face them easier because they put their trust in Jehovah, have good preoccupations, know the Bible truth.

"And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away." -- Revelation 21:4

"I have hope toward God, which hope these [men] themselves also entertain, that there is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous." -- Acts 24:25

"If YOU remain in my word, YOU are really my disciples, and YOU will know the truth, and the truth will set YOU free." -- John 8:31,32

Jehovah's Witnesses don't smoke, drink, put their lives in danger.

It is achtung_heiss. What makes you think he has seperate accounts? His 40% best answers? He gives one of the best answers here so he deseves that. There are many people who appreciate his answers and choose them as best. For example I've chosen him 2 times until now and voted for him in many occasions and I'll surely keep doing that.

No.

There are those who will make outrageous claims about Jehovah's Witnesses, including one here who claims to have had "several patients who refused blood in spite of eminent death."

eminent death?

Okay I think he meant imminent death but really!

Then there's the one claiming that Witnesses don't accept ANY medical help.

"Jehovah's witness is hazardous to health because they don't believe medical attendance of a Medical Doctors. They will not accept medicines for their health. They do not want blood transfusion and all everything about medical science."

Utter nonsense. If we didn't make use of doctors then there would be no court cases of doctors trying to force blood transfusions on them.

Yes we refuse blood transfusions but we do not reject ALL medical care!

Two different questions.

As for accounts, likely not any more than Penguin who had his top account suspended by Yahoo a couple of weeks ago. He states this in answer to a question from someone who wondered why he was no longer posting under the old profile.

As for your health, they are looking out for your health, wanting you to live forever, free of aging and illness, with 100% of your mental capabilities.

As for blood transfusions, U.S. citizens might ask why Britain no longer considers our blood safe enough and has changed to getting it from Australia. Anyone under 18 receives only imported blood in Britain, due to their problems with Mad Cow Disease. When I had two reps in my taxi from London, who were in town for a conference, they said we are fooling ourselves if we think our blood supply is fully safe. There's a growing problem with over bleeding for profit. It triggers the production of clot factors which can be dangerous to the receiver.

we do go to the doctor and get the best care we can. yes we don't except blood. even if I was not a Jehovah Witness, I would never get blood. people know nothing about us and rather tell lies. we don't ride bikes. I have a dear friend who had a triple bypass without blood and he is doing great. our children also get the best care from doctors. you hardly hear of Jehovah Witnesses divorces there spouse.

I tend to agree with the first person who answered here. JWs seem polite & pretty happy too.

There used to be a boy in my class at school who always blamed others when he farted.
My point is that the fact that you're asking about someone having other accounts makes me suspicious of you.

How many other accounts do you have?

IT is less hazardous not not being a Witness.

2007-04-30 13:19:41 · answer #10 · answered by sklemetti 3 · 3 2

If you're thinking about blood transfusions, then yes, it can be. When you consider the number of lives that have been saved vs. the risk (which JWs try to exaggerate, in my opinion), being a member of that group can certainly be hazardous.

Otherwise, no. In fact, since they condemn smoking, it could have health benefits. Of course, you don't have to be a JW to not smoke!

On the whole, I'd say that it's not worth it.
