First of all, you need to begin dealing with the loss of your daughter. You don't mention why she was taken from you, but in addition to missing her I'm sure you must also be suffering in other ways -- such as the personal embarassment of having her taken away. A really good psychiatrist can help you deal with your issues, beginning with the proper medication. Your doctor will know if he or she is qualified to begin counseling, but will recommend you to a psychologist or licensed social worker if she thinks that will work better. A full blown panic attack can feel like a heart attack. You might even want to go to an acute care center at your community hospital to get checked out as soon as possible. Make sure you go in a presentable condition -- showered, clean hair and clothes -- or you will get locked up in the psyche ward for a week. While you may need the extra care, it's my opinion those wards do more harm than good.

Once you get a clean bill of health -- go for a walk. If the weather is lousy go to a local mall or department store or art museum. Walk and walk and walk. It will get your blood flowing and make you think of other things.

Try not to be sad. It's a tough one, I know, but put on a funny movie. Read People Magazine. Just do something to break the rut you have gotten yourself into.

Then first thing Monday morning, find yourself a good psychiatrist. Do you have a priest or minister you can talk to? Or a good primary care doctor?

I wish you only the best. Emotional trauma is difficult to go through on your own. You are to be commended for reaching out.

Oh my, my heart goes out to you!

I suffered from anxiety for years, anxiety attacks are the worse.

For a long time I took xanax but had to get off them, they are very addicting.

What I found helped me was Valirium (SP) It's a natural vitiman that is supposed to act like Valuim.

Go to your local health store and ask them what they have to help with anxiety. It beats nothing.

Wishing you the best!
