He was not condemned for his statement. So isn't that a strong admission in scripture?

Depends how you interpret the statement and how many people you think are being referred to.

King James Acts 7:59 ::"And they stoned Stephen, calling upon God, and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit"

Jesus is the only mediator to God.

It was a great proclamation of faith. Stephen here in the physical world is being stoned to death, but in the spiritual world he is blessed to see Jesus Christ at the right hand of the Father. Our faith is victorious over death. Even in dying Stephen cries out "Lord, do not hold this sin against them." When we behold the Glory of God, we can not help but forgive others their trespasses against us. We can not help but desire the mercy of God for all men.

I guess that gives teaches me a lesson this morning, on showing mercy to those that cast stones on YA.

the ppl stoning him probably didn't care what he said, so long as he died for his "heresy". does hearing a condemned person spout an apology validate that he/she is accepting responsibilty for his/her actions?no. it doesn't. (not saying Stephen *was* /should have apologized, just using the condemned person thing as an analogy). ask urself, did the ppl at the Inquisition care what "unrepentant" Jews and Muslims said while they were being killed? no. all their persecutors cared about if they didn't "repent" and accept Christianity was the fact that after they were gone, there was one less "infidel". that's probably what the ppl who stoned Stephen cared about. i think it speaks even more that Saul(later called Paul) never apologized in his writings for holding the coats of the ppl who stoned Stephen. what does that little ommission tell u about him?

he was not stoned because of Jesus being or not being God he was stone because no one wanted to hear the truth that Jesus was the risen Lord the Son of God and the price for their sins his message to the people was Christ whom you crusifid is the risen Lord that is what got him stoned he told the truth unashamed the Gospel is Christ and Him crusifed and Him rised from the dead He sits at the right hand of the Father and yes He is God

Why would it be wrong for Steven to call on the name of the Lord. How many people call out for God, even atheist when a car is ready to slam into them? Have you ever cried out "Oh my God?" What is your point?

Absolutely!
There is so much in the Word of God to prove that all these things are true!

Why would people bother to write all those things, think up all those names if it wasn't something that happened, especially that there is now significant proof that Jesus Christ is God's Son - is God!

The Bible mentions coins and camels BEFORE they were introduced. No coins of the period have ever be found. Why would the Bible contain lies if it is true? There is a long list of errors within the Bible, perhaps several hundred !
