The Bible is a Holy scripture. It contains the mind of God,the way of salvation, the doom of the sinners and the happiness of believers. Its doctrines are holy, its precepts are binding, its histories are true and its decisions are immutable.
It contains light to direct you, food to support you and comfort to cheer you.
Read to be wise, believe it to be safe and practice it to be holy.

These questions are quite involved and could take days to answer to your satisfaction. It depends on exactly what you want to know.
In brief, the Bible is a collection of documents written over a period of about 1500 years by various Israelite and Christian authors and deal with God's relationship with man and centering in God's grace in saving man from the consequences of his rejection of God. Christians believe that it is the word of God, i.e., a message from God to you that you can rely on.
Putting it another way, if you have any questions about the Bible, then I suggest you read it, and do it with an open mind. There are many opinions about the Bible, but I doubt half of the people who don't believe in it have even bothered to find out what it really says.
Why is it called the "Bible"? I think that comes from a place called Biblos that used to make the world's best papyrus or something like that. The papyrus was used to make books, and so books came to be known as a similar name. Since the Bible is a very special book, the name eventually became associated with it. But I'm not totally sure about all the details. Try the Brtannica, or failing that, wikipedia.

What is ?
A collection of stories, the early parts ( the Pentateuch ) mostly lifted by the Israelite scribes during the Captivity in Babylon ( 6th century bc ) from other vastly more ancient texts, mostly Sumerian. The later parts written from verbal 'histories' of the Israelites themselves. The New Testament beings split between the four Gospels, thought to have been written by some of the original disciples of Jesus, or other close adherents, such as Luke. The usurper Saul of Tharsus, a lawyer and enforcer for the Sanhedrin, known as Paul, took over the texts at a later date and produced a large amount of his own material, which, curiously enough, are the parts most often quoted by the 'Godly'.
By whom it was written ?
See above.
Why is it called 'Bible' ?
From the Greek, 'biblios' which can be translated as a collection of writings, and thus either a book, or it could mean a collection of books, or even a library.

Bible is the book that is the primary book source of the Christian faith. It was written by a plethora of authors, the first half of the Bible, was written by Jewish authors in the time period from 1000 to 200 B.C. The New Testament was written from 50-120 A.D. The Bible was organized into the Bible Christians know today by Constantine in the early 4th century. I have no idea why it is called Bible

The Bible is a collection of scriptures inspired by God.
It was written by men who were under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, else how has it held up to centuries of unending scrutiney?
It should be called the Bible because it comes from the Greek word Biblios. Even the muslims admit that their holy writs were written by men, but the koran was written centuries later and is an offtake of several religions, such as Judaism and pagan practices.

If you're asking what does the word, “Bible,” means, the short answer is that our English term is derived from the Greek noun, ‘biblos,’ which, at the time the New Testament was written, referred to a scroll. Ancient scrolls were usually made out of sheets of papyrus sewn together.
Later, it was translated into Latin, biblia, meaning "book." The Bible is more than a single book. It is a library--ta biblia, which means "the books." In this Bible library, as in any library, you will find a variety of books--prose, poetry, songs, prayers, history, folklore, sagas, wisdom, letters, parables, proverbs, prophecy, etc. The library of the Bible is divided into two large groups of books:
The Bible was written over a period of hundreds of years by men under inspiration of the Holy Spirit.

“Bible” is the English equivalent for the Greek word bi·bli′a, which means: “little books”, which is derived from bi′blos, a word describing the inner part of the papyrus plant, from which primitive paper was made. The Phoenician city of Gebal was famous for making papyrus paper, & was called, “Byblos", by the Greeks. Eventually, bi·bli′a came to describe several writings, scrolls, books, & eventually even the collection of little books of the Creator's communications to man. This collection was called Bibliotheca Divina (by Jerome), the Divine Library.
Jesus and writers of the 'New Testament' (Christian Greek Scriptures) spoke of the collection of sacred writings as “the Scriptures,” or “the holy Scriptures", “the holy writings.” (Mt 21:42; Mr 14:49; Lu 24:32; Joh 5:39; Ac 18:24; Ro 15:4; 2Ti 3:15,16) These are the written expressions of a communicative God --the Word of God-- which is acknowledged in phrases like: “expression of Jehovah’s mouth” (De 8:3), “sayings of Jehovah” (Jos 24:27), “commandments of Jehovah” (Ezr 7:11), “law of Jehovah,” “reminder of Jehovah,” “orders from Jehovah” (Ps 19:7, 8), “word of Jehovah” (Isa 38:4), ‘utterance of Jehovah’ (Mt 4:4), “Jehovah’s word” (1Th 4:15), & repeatedly as, “sacred pronouncements of God.” (Ro 3:2; Ac 7:38; Heb 5:12; 1Pe 4:11).

The Bible is a collection of Christian books, letters and poems, written by many different religious figures. Some say that God told them what to write, that's an opinion. It probably got its name from some old language.
