The most important thing is our lives is to follow JESUS and accept the salvation GOD was prepared for us through JESUS.denying such a plan means to meet the consequences of GOD which is eternal separation from GOD.
It all started when adam sinned.Because GOD is holy he cant have sin in his presence.so man got seperated from GOD.
So GOD needs something to pay the penalty of sin.JESUS was the perfect sacrifice for our penalty. So JESUS came to earth lived among us and died for us on the cross.JESUS was the penalty.
GOD loves u so much that he sent his son JESUS to die for u to reconcile u back.
John 3:16 says "For GOD so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whoso ever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life".Ask JESUS to come into your heart and forgive ur sins and cleanse ur past with his blood.
With a simple prayer like above u can be saved.

Well, "in general", I'd say for "us" as a society that we feel we need "instant" service, that everything should be "right now". We have lost our ability to be patient, to relish anticipation, to *earn* the "possessions" we feel we have a right to "right now". "We," in general as a society, are no longer authentic because we "gotta have" what we see everyone else already has.
For myself, in particular, it is extremely important to heed the maxim "To Thyne Own Self Be True." That instant gratification thing got me in so much trouble at one point in my life that I no longer knew "who I am". Now I do though, after 6 years of chasing soul pieces back and reintegrating my authenticity.

A Biblical answer would be Ecclesiastes 12:13
"The conclusion of the matter, everything having been heard, is: Fear the true God and keep his commandments."

I believe we are being given an opportuntiy to be raised up to Higher reality at this time. And to get that reward. We have to help others to face what is to come with courage, and the knowledge that their spirit will survive whatever this world can throw at us.

I think the sad truth is that on a day-to-day basis, for most people, it is money.
Our society is really based off of money, possessions, and other material things.
