I don't think it's a sin to be a woman, it's a blessing!! Not that it's better than being a man though, they're both the same!
i don't understand why a god would make half the people in the world be women, and then say they are inferior ! That makes no sense ! And why would these inferior people be given so much responsibility (eg only women can have kids which makes them pretty important I should think!!!!)
I just thank God i don't get treated like that because it is barbaric!! But I don't think they have a choice unfortunately when it comes to putting up with it, they'd get treated even worse if they stood up for themselves which is too sad :-(
But God loves everybody equally!!! That's the way it should be!!!

All the races, and both men and women take turns being in power on our World.
Last time women were in power. There were some who were noble and treated men as equals. Most could have cared less about men until they want something, just like today. And the worst was the Amazon Society. They killed the male children and only kept enough for breeders and slaves.
Much of what we go through is karmic, because of mistakes in the past. But we make choices in the Here and Now too.
We will never find peace amongst ourselves by blaming and condemnding. But by forgiving each other for the human shortcomings we all have. And reaching out to each other with kindness and Love.

You must keep in mind that in Saudi Arabia a very cultural religious Country that has laws that are set down to be followed just like in our Country.
Iran can not and will not allow a Woman to dress as they wish.
The reason for this is so to avoid Sin and protect what is sacred to God with respect.
If Iran allows Women to dress as they wish and show their bodies to the public it is a great Sin and punishable and they do mean business when they say punishable.
In America the land of the free and home of the brave we allow Women to dress as they wish. Some even reveal more body than they should even at the beaches those string bikinis is a lustful sight to Man, but in Saudi that can get you killed quickly.
We have to respect their laws and why they enforce them there.
I have been to Saudi Arabia and I understand it.

Are you going by what the tv and newspapers say? I can tell you that our media is just as slanted as it is in Iraq/Iran--or any other nation for that fact.
I have spoken to many returning officers from Iraq and are baffled by what the news is reporting. They actually wondered if they were speaking of the same war.
Yes, any loss of life to this war is very tragic, but the media isn't giving us the whole story. We are only getting the bad, the worse, and the deadly.
I am sure that this is the same thing happening when you hear of reports of how badly women are being treated. You are only hearing of the bad cases and not all of the cases.

Some cultures are more barbaric in ways than others. Many people (mostly Christians who aren't very Christian like) will place the blame on religion, however when it comes to many countries, especially Iran, cultural traditions reign over religion. This is seen at its best in third world countries, developping countries, and I think that they are in this position because they rely so much on cultural traditions and that mindset that it prevents them from evolving and succeeding. It's not only in Iran, and Iran certainly isn't the worst when it comes to the treatment of women. What we don't know is that surprisingly, Iran is more casual in many instances than we realize. One small example is that while Muslims aren't allowed to drink, alcohol is still sold in Iran to Jews and Christians freely. Another example is that while homosexuality is outlawed, gender reassignment is not, and is often paid for by the government itself. Their reasoning for permitting this surgery: God doesn't forbid it. However God does forbid mistreating women, abusing citizens and innocents, and ruling in an oppressive manner, yet traditions and greed get in the way of this and prevent them from truly becomming a highly successful country. It certainly doesn't help to have a President who wants nuclear energy while at the same time badmouthing Jews and mocking them and daring them to do something.
To be honest, I think the people of Iran are getting tired of what is going on. On one hand, they like the idea of a religious government who understands their needs, but at the same time they're getting sick of a "religious" government abusing their rights and turning religion into an unjust political system that leaves them free to abuse their powers. It wouldn't surprise me if the Iranian people began a new revolution to flush out the greedy b*stards hiding under religion and replace them with someone more capable to do the job and be for the people.

These women have no way of defending themselves without going to jail because of it. I read a story of a girl in Iran who was raped and she fought back and was almost sent to the gallows. This only means that women all over the world should fight for their sisters who have no means of standing up for themselves. It is not a sin to be a woman, it is only a struggle-a struggle, if we win it right, that can lead us to bigger and better things, that can make us equal with the men in this world.

I don't know much about the situation your talking about but I'd just like to point out to all these christians that are trying to take the moral high ground that christianity was one of the first religions to make woman second class citizens. They used to blame woman for orignal sin. It was supposed to of been Eves fault they were thrown out of Eden. I just think these people should take a long hard look at the foundations of there own beliefs before trying to put down the cultures of others. I'm not saying these customs are right but they are their customs.

I've often wondered why they put up with it...but I guess they do. The day they get tired of being opressed, something might happen.
In Mideval Europe, women were also seen as inherently weak and sinful because of Eve. And yet if you notice, in that story, Adam didn't try to stop her or chide her for the apple--he just ate it too. If he were so superior, he should have knocked it out of her hand or something! People have always twisted their religion's writings to say what they wanted them to say. You have to read exactly what the text says, without "filters" to understand it, no matter what your "book" is.

They put up with it because they dont know any different. There mothers went through it, grandmothers, etc.
It was the same for us not so long ago. Women in western countrys have only got equil rights and the ability to vote in the last century.
Its sad that in a lot of countrys still being a woman is the same as being a house pet.
But in a hundered years it'll be men kept as pets, because scientists have found a way for women to produce sperm........theres hope for women in the future but not the guys =)

Friend, it is NOT a sin to be a woman, The bible even says if a man Finds a Good Christian wife, he has founded a good thing. The reaosn like Iran or any muslum country that treats their woman bad, it yes the men are weak, & they are hateful, Don't let things in other countries worry your mind, God will very soon straighten out the whole thing.
