I've been told by a senior officer that this law was disbanded ages ago
plus most of us dont carry hats anymore, and they certainly wouldnt hold 'water'

I saw that on TV , It probably was the case many many yrs ago , Im sure a police officer would not take kindly to it now though .....

A "dead" law - if tried, I can't help but imagine charges of assault and/or battery and offences under the Public Order and Sexual Offences Acts would swiftly follow...
Would make an interesting test case, however...!
