You are doing fine.

More than miles, power walk for at least 30 minutes to get your body to burn stored fat. More than a distance matter it is a intensity affair. You can walk 3 miles and burn less fat that if you power walk half the distance at more than twice the intensity; for instance; going uphill at the same speed as on flat ground.

So, keep up the good work, and power walk at least 3 or 4 times a week.

I lost 105 pounds in 6 months. Here is how I did it.
1. Every morning get up and walk for 45 minutes. You can start with less time, but you want to get up to 45 minutes, and it must be fast walk. You want your heart rate to go up. It must be in the morning, it kick starts your metabolism.
2. I cut out Red Meat, and fatty foods. Boneless skinnless chicken breast, baked, or grilled, rice and vegetables (steamed).
3. Eat half. Just eat half of what you normally eat. Put 1/2 on your plate, and put the rest away. Cook less. When you go to fast food, get salads only. Or grilled chicken. No fries, only diet soda. Or water.

It will work, once you get into a routine, you will get hooked on the results, and you will keep the routine. It has been over a year for me.

Also start counting your calories. Write them down. You would be amazed as to how much more aware you are of your caloric intake, if you actually write it down. We recently discovered a site that offers a great program that counts calories, as well as keeps track of everything. It allows multiple users, so everyone in the family can keep track. They offer a free 7 day trial, and so far I am very impressed with the product. Try the 7 days and see. It allows you to add the exercise that you do during the day, which increases the amount of calories you can take in. Very Cool!!

I've lost 5 kilos in my first week. It's my 10th day and I have included salad with some protein (eg. egg/ lean chicken) as you suggested. After 4 years of trying, the fat is finally coming off. It truly feels like magic!

Get started today!

if ur sweating ur already in the process of burnng fat but u should do an hour atleast which will do more 4 ur body than 30mins. try jogging coz it gives a better result than power work. this will help work more parts of ur body in losing fat n including ur heart. it also does a gud job on 4 ur hips! powerwalk is also gud but it doesn't work out ur muscles as much. well thats my theory i guess. Gud luck!!!! u can do it!!! Go bubba 666's! gO bubba 666's!! hope this helps!

dont count miles - count time.
find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried - no junk food.

If you are sweating, it is a very good sign. The further you go the better and the faster the more fat you burn. Keep it up!

your body needs 10 min at least to warm up,then you should do at least an hour of walking cos otherwise it wont do anything. a very important point is that your heartrate doesnt get too high, for fat burn training the heart rate should be between 50 n 60% of your maximum heart rate.
