Are they for GPS or Cell phones? Or possibly Satellite radio? I thought they were mostly on the BMWs but honda now has them, Acura, newer GM cars. They are typically mounted to the rear and are the same color as the vehicle. I am looking for a something of the same but for satellite radio. Where can I find an after-market one that's compatible?

Yes, they are a combination antenna for a radio, phone, navigation, etc.
A good auto sound shop will have and install them.

There are several purposes for wedges on the rear roof.
Mostly they are used for navigation systems, satellite television, and internet.

Mitsubishi's Lancer Evolution MR has several wedges on the rear of the roof that function as a vortex generator to keep the lightweight car stable at high speed.

If you plan to install one aftermarket for electronic purposes be forewarned, it is expensive to have them installed correctly
