is it just a simple install going from Windows ME to Windows XP Professional any special things I should know before sticking my toe in the water to see how cold the water is. Will everything else i have on this breast still be in tact if I do something like this.

first of all u cant install an OS like that u need a fresh partition to install an OS on
u can get a fresh partition either by formatiing the existing OS or any other unused partition
and yes before formatting the existing OS remeber that all the softwares will hve to be reinstalled in the new OS for working over em.

if you have the upgrade gversion of XP then yes you can do it. However I suggest to help nip some probs get the full version and do a clean install

Best to back up everything you need, wipe the disk and install on a clean disk. XP uses a different filesystem than ME, it would have to reformat.
