Prayer request is not allowed, it is against the guidlines and I think that is wrong, we should be allowed to ask and answer a request. I have asked in forum if we can ask for prayer request but I don't think they will, but we can try.
Do you think we should be allowed to have prayer requests?
May God Bless You

where else would prayer requests be more welcome than in a religion and spirituality forum
i think it is silly not to allow them
and i even know some Atheists who would agree there , they may not agree with prayer .... but they see no harm in requesting it
and as for fitz and fady lol
at least you have taken the time to know me Susan and to know what i believe

This is what I consider the benefits of allowing that on R&S:
It builds a sense of community to stop and think about others for a moment. With all the divisivness that goes on here, I think a point of unity is a good thing.
It allows people to come together, regardless of what thier religion is, to pray for a common goal, and I have also seen athiests come in and say that they don't pray, but will offer good wishes, and support.
This is a site to learn about religion and spirituality, and it offers a look at how people from different spiritual walks go about addressing the divine, and composing prayers, (or not) and I have seen some very lovely prayers made here, and it helps to give me ideas for composing my own prayers as well. It offers a great deal of insight on other's perspectives.
But then I don't view "prayer" as a specifically Christian activity, other faiths pray as well. It offers a chance to look for what people have in common, when they pray. People will also sometimes include in thier posts what they think prayer is or is not, and in what ways they think praying will help a person, this is also valuable insight into different approaches.
This activity would be completely innapropriate in any other section of Y/A, but in the context of R&S, I think that it does offer answers about other's expressions of spirituality, with an added bonus of helping someone else, or at least helping them feel better in a bad situation...

Why not? Although we have to obey Yahoo's laws and guidelines, I do not see any harm in a prayer request; it might actually be a productive step in creating harmony as people from different faiths come together to pray for the same cause.
Cheers & God bless.

Prayer requests should be fine because it's an invitation, it's something wanted and asked for.

Yes, I do and also there are other things I have in mind that should be allowed also.
EDIT:
For example, witnessing to people who want to hear it, the true Gospel of Jesus Christ without getting reported by someone who is a non believer.

NO YOU SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED PRAYER REQUESTS
1) This is a Question and Answer site, not a prayer meeting
2) This is Religion and Spirituality, not a Christian chat board so prayer requests may offend those of other faiths.
3) Allow your prayers in here you have to allow others to worship - and I'm sure you lot would be really happy to have Satanists (who are allowed to post in here as that is their religion) holding cabals in here.
