Sorry I got totally confused by your explanation. You gave 49 as an example, but what multiplied by 9 makes 49? And how does 4 + 9 = 15? Surely it is 13.

But I can see that if I got a D then Denmark is an obvious choice. And Denmark has always seemed like a grey country to me. And ele is like elephant and is in Denmark.

Multiply any number 1-10 by 9 and add the digits, and you get 9. subtract 5 and you get 4, which is D. Thus you either get Denmark, Dominican Republic, Dominica, or Djibouti. Most people will choose Denmark, so Animals that start with E, probably Eagle.
