Why does my CD drive icon disappear often?.. At times it appears but most often it disappears.. pls help me..?

Either The IDE cable connecting the CD drive to your computer is defective or the CD drive itself is not working properly. Viruses or OS problems might also be the cause of this.

Have your computer checked by a professional technician.

Why not check the settings by clicking on VIEW then select what you want to do with icons.
