1908, Winning League's William Merritt Chase still-life prize for her oil painting Mona Shehab. But also stop painting that year because she could not support herself with it.
1928 Six of her calla lily paintings sold for $25,000 US dollars.The largest sum ever paid for a group of paintings by a living American artist at that time.

The most significant event in her life was getting to know Alfred Steiglitz and eventually marrying him. As a woman artist in the early part of the twentieth century she would not be readily accepted by the dominant men but Stiglitz recognized talent when he saw it and help to promote the young woman artist. Without Stiglitz's influence we may not even have heard of her today!
