Store bought sliced bread-crusts. If it's a homemade loaf, we always called it the heel, same as store bought, unsliced italian bread.

The heels of the bread are what we called them in Mississippi. My favorite sandwich bread= the heels. lol

(USA) I call them "butts". Like "butt o' bread". But that's because I worked in food service so it's slang. In more polite conversation I say "heels".

I'm from Australia and having a mother who loves them, they are called crusts - no-one else in our family get a chance at them.
