I never had a wedding planner and I would never dream of hiring one. I want things done my way and I want to take care of them myself. Besides, paying someone to do it all is just an unneccessary expense. Sure they may have some good ideas and knowledge, but half the fun of wedding planning is researching, shopping around, and barganing for what you want.

Wedding planners can help you and reduce the stress of your wedding, you may not need one for the entire planning process and some planners provide a service for the last few days before your wedding. This way you can pass on all your plans and let them do the final chase up and ensure your wishes are followed through. You can then spend the time relaxing and pampering yourself!!

Saying that doesn't mean you have to have a wedding planner, it is possible to organise and plan your own wedding. There is lots of information on how to plan in magazines and online. Just remember you are the customer and don't feel pushed into accepting services and set ideas if you are not happy with them.

You can pull a wedding off without a wedding planner fine but it is kinda nice to have someone to lean back on and for someone to be able to make sure everything is set and be able to react in a quick situation. If you are having trouble with anything just post a question on here and I will answer it I love wedding questions because I am experienced in that department!

I am a wedding planner and on top of that I have also be engaged. I know what kind of stress can be involved in a wedding. We are not here to gouge you out of your money. For those of us who actually care, we are here to assist you and take some of the stress off of you so you can enjoy your day as stress free as possible. For me personally, I base my rates on what the budget of the bride and groom are and what services they are looking for. We are supposed to be here to help and assist you, not turn your wedding into some huge financial nightmare. It is a matter of finding the right wedding planner who wants to work with you with in your budget.

Wedding planners are a wonderful asset, we can think of things that you have not thought of and we can handle things that can be a huge consumption of time and we can also track things that need to be taken care of and make sure that things happen on schedule.

i haven't gotten married yet, but i totally agree with the person above me!! it's more fun to do it yourself..

i remember when my dad got re-married, they had a wedding planner/coordinator and they ended up firing her because she wanted to do things cookie cutter classic like she always did for everyone's wedding.. so unless you fine one as good as jennifer lopez in "the wedding planner," i'd say to just have fun with it and do it all yourself and with the help of family members and girl friends!! that's how i would do it personally!!

Do you need help because you're out of the area? If so, perhaps your venue has someone or a reference for you.
Some wedding planners work "ala carte" or just the services that you need, also.
