I am not a mormon (which i consider a false faith anyway) or anything like that, but I think polygamy (one man with more than one wife) should be more accepted, given that the first wife is consenting of course.
There are various biblical evidences of this, you can see them at sites like biblicalpolygamy.com. Biologically it makes sense, since 1 man (who produces millions of sperm a second) can have unlimited amounts of children, while women (who can only carry one child at a time for 9 months) can produce very very few by comparison.
A man who thinks like this today would be considered a pig, however today it women who take multiple partners, even with their significant other's watching them in coitus with another person, are considered "liberated". This is not natural, nor does it go according to God's plan, biblically put, it is adultery.
Like I said, it's in the bible, and if the wife is consenting, there is no problem whatsoever scripturally.

Even Moses had a second wife, and when his siblings complained about it, God punished his siblings! If you dont believe me, see for yourself: Numbers 12:1

Since God's original standard for mankind was for the husband and wife to become one flesh, polygamy was not intended and it is prohibited in the true Christian congregation.
As was the case with divorce, polygamy, while not God's original arrangement, was tolerated until the time of the Christian congregation. Polygamy had a start not long after Adam's deflection. Concerning some of the angels, the Bible
mentions that before the Flood, "the sons of the true God...went taking wives for themselves, namely, all whom they chose" (fallen angels) Genesis chapter 6 verse 2.
Concubinage was practiced under patriarchal law and under the Law covernant. A concubine had a legal status; her position was not a matter of fornication or adultery. Under the Law, if a man's firstborn son was the son of his concubine, this son would be the one to receive the firstborn's inheritance. Deut 21:15-17
Concubinage and polygamy no doubt enabled the Israelites to increase at a much faster rate and therefore, while God did
not establish these arrangements, but only allowed and regulated them, they served some purpose at the time. Exodus chapter 1 verse 7. Even Jacob, who was tricked into polygamy by his father-in-law was blessed by having 12 sons and some daughters from his two wives and their handmaidens who became concubines to Jacob. Genesis 29:23-29 and chapter 46:7 - 25.

"For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh." -Ephesians 5:31. (con) Although there were people before in the old testament that practiced it, righteous men. (pro)
so it's kind of a hard question... but i know that when you love somebody, you don't ever love anyone else, and i mean romantically. so it wouldn't really work out. also:
http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Leviticus%2018%20;&version=47;
i encourage you to look at that passage, if the link doesn't work its at www.biblegateway.com and the passage is Leviticus 18, English Standard Version. the passage is important, it says things like: 8You shall not uncover the nakedness of your father's wife; it is your father's nakedness.
that would describe that the nakedness is sacred and only uncoverable by the father, but it doesn't say anything about the wife being unable to uncover the nakedness of a man that is uncovered by other women or wives... so i guess that all we've explained is that a wife can't have many husbands.
however, this verse: You shall not uncover the nakedness of a woman and of her daughter, and you shall not take her son's daughter or her daughter's daughter to uncover her nakedness; they are relatives; it is depravity.
shows that you can't have relations with both a mother and daughter, which i would suppose mean that you could do polygamy then... wow. but maybe not now, although i don't see what has changed, unless jesus' coming changed it somehow. uhh... i guess i might come back to this one...

Polygamy did not start among those who were true worshipers of God. The first record of polygamy is with Lamech, a descendant of unfaithful Cain. When the Law came in, it did not bring in polygamy or concubinage, nor did it encourage these practices. In fact, polygamy was evidently not practiced by the majority in ancient Israel. The provisions of the Law were such as would actually discourage polygamy. Each time a man had intercourse with his wife he was unclean, in a religious sense, for a day. (Lev. 15:16, 17) Thus, relations with several wives would make it more frequently inconvenient for the Hebrew, for uncleanness prevented the man from engaging in a number of activities.
With Jesus Christ’s appearance on earth the time came to begin to set things straight. He made clear God’s standard of monogamy, and of Scriptural divorce only on grounds of adultery. (Matt. 19:9) When asked by the Pharisees why God did not enforce this standard upon Israel, Jesus replied: “Moses, out of regard for your hardheartedness, made the concession to you of divorcing your wives, but such has not been the case from the beginning.”—Matt. 19:7, 8.

Mormons do not practice polygamy, if they do they will be excommunicated. I agree that polygamy should not be looked down as much as it is, in the Old testament when people had mulitple wives the population of th world was not as great as it is today. Being a wife myself, I would not want my husband to have any other wives because I would be jealous and want him all to myself, which I would think is a natural thought. If Heavenly father commanded us to practice polygamy then I would, just like everything else he commands and I follow. In the beginning He created Adam and Eve his only wife, I think He knew in these latter days that he would only want us to have one wife and one husband.

The LDS church stopped polygamy because the prophet grow to be inspired (through God, or atleast that is what LDS human beings imagine) to end practise polygamy. If polygamy itself grow to be a sin, i'm certain the under no circumstances might want to have practiced it interior the first position. The LDS church's twelfth article of religion says "We be counted on being subject to kings, presidents, rulers, and magistrates, in obeying, honoring, and keeping the regulation." on condition that polygamy grow to be a criminal offense, practise it might want to be going by assessment statement. i'm certain there are different reason although.

Yes, if you look at it from a practical POV, it COULD work.
A man could have two wives. Buy a duplex and have them live next door. They would have to be able to get along. They could watch each other's kids, help each other with housework, etc.
As for the husband, wife one could, if they, say, got into a big fight, kick him out with a clear conscience, knowing he has a place to go and he is loved. And by the time wife #2 is ready to kick him out, wife #1 will be ready to take him back.

It may be in the bible but it was not blessed by God. Marriage according to God and His Word.
Genesis 2:23-24 The man said,
"This is now bone of my bones,
And flesh of my flesh;
She shall be called Woman,
Because she was taken out of Man,"
For this reason a man shall leave his father and his mother,
and be joined to his wife; and they shall become one flesh.
Matthew 19:5 KJV) And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?
(Matthew 19:6 KJV) Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.
Mark 10:6 "But at the beginning of creation God `made them male and female.
`For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife,

So it’s okay for a guy to have multiple wives but it’s not okay for a woman to have multiple husbands? What kind of bullsh*t is that? I’m with, but it should be fair. What’s the matter with my having more than one husband as long as both husbands are okay with it?
(You are just looking for a good excuse to have multiple sex partners without giving your wife the same privilege)
By the way, there is no such thing as a “false faith”. Faith is faith, doesn’t matter if what you believe in is real.

There is a mention of this in the old tesatament and the trouble that was caused by it
viz Hagar, Jacob's 2 wives etc.
That is why it is not a good idea to do and it is also not spoken of in the NT
