If you wish you can state your own affiliation, just to satisfy my
morbid curiousity.
If you consider someone, some group, some other faith, or
anything else as the greatest threat to your values or beliefs.
Right here in the USA.
I would still be curious to hear.
Please no hatefilled rants and raves please, and no pastings of documents the size of half the NY telephone directory, I'm
not gonna read all that anyway.

Adam B. good question but I didn't specify what I thought of as a good Christian because I want to know what
You people think is a Good One.
I promise I'll give my definition in a few days.

Mooch, coming from many others on the pages of relispits I would consider that yet another unsubstatiated hollow boast.
But you definitely are a True Christian, and I am greatly indebted to you for that.
This might seem strange coming from a hard core atheist and it would take hours to explain but your 'silly ' questions
and answers have been a tremendous help to me.

I've put my foot in it now, but a promise is
a promise and I had to dig deep and ended up in my childhood, to some ''children's books'' I read and the
great impression they made on me.
Christian actions always speak louder to me than words and I will proclaim the
virtues of a decent sinner over the doubtful credentials of a lukewarm ( sunday only ) Christian.
This means I consider the Dalai Lama and Mahatma Gandhi as exemplary Christians, even if they are a different faith.
I found my Childhood books reread them and they still bring tears to my eyes, short stories by Giovanni

''People?''what does that mean?
People as a wholeare never going to get
into Heaven. God judges people individuallyand not in the mass. There are no 'group' sins but only personal ones and there is no collective soul.
It is all wrong for a man to let his personal conscience be swallowed up by collective responsabilities''.
Don Camillo lowered his head.
''But Lord, public opinion has some value...........
''I know that, Don Camillo,Public opinion
Nailed me to the Cross''.

I have read that from 80-90% (believe it or not!) in the U.S. would self-identify as Christians.
It's actually not up to any of us (thankfully!) to judge who is a "true" Christian, and there is no such thing as a "good" Christian.
I don't consider any person, group or faith as a threat to my values and beliefs.

HI dustman,I have thought all morning about your question.I'm pretty much a loner and didn't really know others views until I joined Yahoo q&a.Every day it's a debate over who is right . Catholic,Muslim,Baptist,ChurchofGod,Church of Christ. the list goes on and on.Now these are Christians(left out some) yet they think it is ok to redicule and belittle others beliefs. I always thought the Love that Christ had for us was to be our example, Seems like the non beliver is the most content of all.I have been hurt more in the name of God by well meaning Christians than by any other group of people. Judged, looked down on and bestowed with pious mercy.Christians will giv e ri ghtous answers but no comfort only automatic quotes from the Bible. Christians I know have a "Sunday Love" Hug you in church and ignore you Monday in WalMart. Nonbelivers seem so comfortable with life.I am a Christian, but a good one, evidently not. I just want to treat others the way I want to be treated. Don't judge me, take me as I am.I've heard that more tears were cried over unanswered prayers than answered ones, Truth? If there are any True Christians,I have yet to meet one.God is our Father that sees and knows all our needs? We need our eyes opened. I see no Good Christians that I want to identify with.....susan m

What is a true Christian? Define. What u think it is.
Its more than what people are saying on here, I can tell you that. A Christian is anyone who believes in the Lord Jesus Christ. That He came to Earth and died for our sins. Whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life. We are all sinners. For all have come short of the glory of God. None are perfect. Not one. All are gonna make mistakes. Just because you accepted Jesus dont mean your gonna be made a perfect godly person. Your still gonna have faults. Its human nature. All you can do is try. Do your best. Learn along the way. Grow in His glory. Praise His Holy Name! I would say at least half of Americans? I dont know. No such thing as a good Christian as the above answer says. You believe in and accept Jesus into your heart, your going to heaven.

I would guess approximately 1-2% right now but God promises that he will speed up the harvest in the last days so there should be many more soon.

Dusty, I am a true Christian. I asked Jesus to come into my life and be my savior when I was a teenager. I believe that the Bible is the holy, just, and actual word of God. Any other "bibles" that religious groups might use to "accompany" it such as the "Book of Mormon" are works of fiction.
I fear, love, magnify and worship my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ....and I am not ashamed of it. Jesus welcomes and loves all...and he turns away nobody...not even the ones who hate him.

About 60 percent are proclaimed christian, about half would be true Christians.
As to be true christian you must act on your beliefs and many look for excuses not to.

TRUE Christians? 1 out of a thousand.
True Christian meaning one who loves there enemies, turns the other cheek, gives to the poor and treats the least of their brethren as if he or she was Jesus.

Good question.
It deserves an honest answer.
Most Christians have so much sin in their lives I'm afraid they will "miss the boat".
Scripture says they will stand before the Lord and claim to be righteous and He will say to them "depart from me I don't know you".
My answer to your question is about 2% are only God's true remnant.
