we were both pleasant and had a good talk, but i noticed he seemed somewhat anal and had a hard time taking anything i said at face value even when my statements were blunt and simple. this made me very curious, so the last couple of days i have visited many psychology and OCD discussion rooms or support groups. of the 38 OCD sufferers i was able to speak with, 33 of them had no spiritual beliefs, what does this tend to suggest??

Interesting - so if your anal, you have no spirituality? I think it is a control issue. They think they control their own lives and everything in it.

Most atheists do not take things at face value. They question and research what they hear and try to find out what the truth is, what is actually supported by real evidence. Call that anal if you will.

The scientifically based studies show a correlation between atheism and education. The more educated you are the less likely you are to believe in god.

Now if you want to actually back up your hypothesis with some actual science, rather than finding a single point that supports your feelings, go ahead.

Get a new question, this is getting old. Someone sent me this a few years back, & if anything points to OCD (among other disorders,) I'd say this does;

Top Ten Signs You're a Christian
10; You vigorously deny the existence of thousands of gods claimed by other religions but feel outraged when someone denies the existence of yours.
9; You feel insulted & "dehumanized" when scientists say that people evolved from other life forms, but you have no problem with the Biblical claim that we were created from dirt.
8; You laugh at polytheists, but you have no problem believing in a Triune God.
7; Your face turns purple when you hear of the "atrocities" attributed to Allah, but you don't even flinch when hearing about how God/Jehovah slaughtered all the babies of Egypt in "Exodus" & ordered the elimination of entire ethnic groups in "Joshua" including women, children & trees!
6; You laugh at Hindu beliefs that deify humans & Greek claims about gods sleeping with women, but you have no problem believing that the Holy Spirit impregnated Mary, who then gave birth to a man-god who got killed, came back to life & then ascended into the sky.
5; You are willing to spend your life looking for little loopholes in the scientifically established age of Earth (few billion years), but you find nothing wrong with believing dates recorded by Bronze Age tribesmen sitting in their tents & guessing that Earth is a few generations old.
4; You believe that the entire population of this planet (with the exception of those who share your beliefs--though excluding those in all rival sects,) will spend Eternity in an infinite Hell of Suffering. & yet consider your religion the most "tolerant" & "loving."
3; While modern science, history, geology, biology & physics have failed to convince you otherwise, some idiot rolling around on the floor speaking in tongues may be all the evidence you need to prove Christianity.
2; You define .01% as a "high success rate" when it comes to answered prayers. You consider that to be evidence that prayer works. & you think that the remaining 99.99% FAILURE was simply the will of God.
1; You actually know a lot less than many atheists & agnostics do about the Bible, Christianity & church history, but still call yourself a Christian.

I noticed that 33 out of 38 Christians on these boards have significant learning disabilities manifested in difficulty with spelling, reading comprehension and logical analysis.

Is there a correlation?

Maybe you met a lot of very smart OCD sufferers?

Or maybe you are insinuating that all atheists have some sort of mental disease? Because you might want to look up the definition of 'delusion' sometime. That CAN be a mental disease. And Christians definitely suffer from that.

The problem here lies in the ability for you to take anything the other person says as being significant or valid. You already have your mind made up and so the real argument here is only for your own amusement and perhaps to boost status and support from fellow believers in your chosen faith.

It suggests that you are uneducated. At least when it comes to the scientific method. It suggests that you are very gullible and easily taken in by anecdotal evidence.

It also suggests that you enjoy practicing medicine without a license, diagnosing complete strangers, labeling, and baiting people.

This doesn't suggest anything on its own. It's just a manipulative piece of data with no context.
