Even Christians go through down times. Try to find a woman at church that might have been through some of the same things you have been through lately. It always helps to talk to someone with similar experiences that has already survived the hard time.
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. Phil 4:6
Remember the thanksgiving part of this passage. It tells us to pray, pray with definite requests, and give thanks. It must be a vital part of the verse, but it is often overlooked. Try this verse out for a few nights. It helped me!

Sometimes it is just hard to happy. There are mountains and valleys and it sounds like you are in a valley. I do not know what you are going through but you sound depressed. It is ok to be sad sometimes, this is not a reflection on your relationship with God. I have struggled with depression at different times in my life and it is never easy. I have found that talking to someone who is not involved in my situation is more helpful that anything else. I saw a counselor for a few months during one particularly difficult time. These are the times when God can be there for you and let the joy, passion, and glory take care of themselves. If you would like to talk further feel free to e-mail me. I will say a prayer for you and remember, it is ok to feel what you feel.

You know that good feeling you get when you tell someone about Jesus and they actually respond?
The bible tells us to give thanks in all things (not to be confuse with FOR all things). God's purpose for us is that part about telling others about Jesus - and sometimes even using words if needed.
If we approach EVERY situation with "Thank you God for allowing me to be the one that You are using for Your glory in this situation.", then in all things, we can have that feeling that comes from knowing that somebody is getting closer to Christ because God used us. That's the Joy of the Lord and the Peace that surpasses all Understanding all rolled into one!

I don't know about the joy and passion of the Lord, but based on our avatars, it seems that you have an atheist twin. :-)
Hope you feel better soon. Maybe doing some volunteer work in the community would be rewarding. I volunteer as an ESL tutor on Monday evenings.

The only way to feel the joy of the Lord is by His Holy Spirit. Its the fruits of the Holy Spirit.
For God's Kingdom is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of the righteousness, peace, and joy which the Holy Spirit gives. Ro 14:17
The Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you everything and make you remember all that I have told you. Joh 14:26
Peter said to them, "Each one of you must TURN AWAY FROM SINS and be BAPTIZED in the NAME OF JESUS CHRIST, so that your sins will be forgiven; and you will RECEIVE GOD's GIFT, the Holy Spirit. Acts 2:38
The above is capitals are so necessary to receive the Holy Spirit. He is our helper/comforter.

A very good question. All people get down no matter how or what they believe.it is just human nature.Don't be so hard on yourself and you have recognized it yourself. You may need a check up at your Doctors and maybe just a friend or Pastor to talk to and they will just let you talk.
Good luck to you.God hears you.Be sure in your heart tomorrow will be a better day.And it will. Bless you.

The joy of the Lord is our strength, the bible says. Also says, that there is rejoicing in Heaven over one sinner that repenteth. So, if God rejoices over one sinner who finally repents and the joy of the Lord is OUR strength, then it would seem that if we are busy in helping others to come into repentance we will have the strength needed in every aspect of life.

When you are feeling down - God is there with you. He's not there telling you to cheer up as quickly as possible - He's there to offer you a shoulder to cry on. He'll be there when you're happy and when you're sad.
You do not have to be happy 24-7 because you are a Christian.
