Because it is called a molten core, not a lake. Next time I go to Hawaii you should come along and I'll show you lava vents and lava flows. Who or what gave you the impression that hell is beneath the surface of the earth. Everyone knows that hell is on Mercury.

Friend, this entire question is a misnomer. I believe in a literal Hell, but it doesn't exist here on Earth, any more than Heaven exists here on Earth. First, even if they did, both realms are completely invisible to us who are still in our earthly bodies and so we couldn't see the lava if it truly came from Hell. The Bible is not specific on their exact locations, but they either exist in a different dimension entirely, or in our dimension but completely invisible to us.

There's enough evidence for a Hell besides simply lava and volcanoes. Not empirical evidence, of course, but logical evidence.

Because the earth is made out of a lot of fluid parts. There are things called plate techtonics, that is the thin layer of crust on which we live, that floats on top of a hugely thick layer of magma. these plates are always moving around, sometimes moving into eachother, sometimes splitting apart. when these things happen we get cracks and fissures in our layer of 'crust' and out comes the magma. Like blood out of an opened wound. that's how volcanos are formed.

We don't usually think about all of this because we assume that the ground below us is perfectly sound and solid. But if you've ever been in an earthquake then you'll start to see that our planet is a bit more fluid.

In the beginning when our solar system was still forming, our planet was a giant ball of liquid. The crust has slowly cooled, but because of immense amounts of friction at the core the mantle below us has always remained luquid. I think that this feature plays a big role in how our planet is able to sustain life.

As for hell, I don't know if such a place exists. Don't you think that if there was one that we'd see evidence of it come up out of the ground just like the magma?

Yes there is lava and volcanoes. God never wanted people to burn in a fiery torment. It is another lie of Satan to discredit the Almighty.
When we die we go into the cool earth...God says for out of it you were taken and to it you must return. He reminds us that we are only dust. How presumptuous of some to defame My God.
And he will resurrect all those in the memorial tombs.

What in the world does the earth's innards have to do with a fictitious place where supposedly all "bad" people go (or "unbelievers" depending on how unreasonable one's religious beliefs are). Even given the kooky things you probably believe in, I never heard that "Hell" was in the middle of the earth anyway.

Ever hear of gas in an underground mine? Ever hear of a Hot Spring? I suppose if the volcanoes get too crowded, God will start throwing people into boiling water! The earth is full of NATURAL PHENOMENA!! You can make up fairy tales about it, or; you can study the science of it and accept it for what it is. Your FREEDOM OF CHOICE! RESPECT OURS!!!
