It isn't a race, and there are no hard and fixed rules. Well, one thing should be hard.
Most women are stronger than men, and they will outlast the men most of the time. However, women generally don't complain if they climax before you do.
Women don't climax all the time, and the man doesn't have to either. There are a lot of nice things you can do before, after, or instead of climaxing.
In fact, many would argue that foreplay is the most important part of sex.
One final word of advice: practice makes perfect. If you make a mistake the first time, don't worry--just do it again.

I think it's most helpful if the woman climaxes first, at least once. The reason is, she may have a stronger chance at climaxing again and not need to discontinue the act in order to recover. Most men need to take a break after they climax, and that can make it difficult for the woman.

typically a woman would want to finish first. it is a turn off if the guy did. honestly
