im trying to figure out how much something is going to cost on a calculater..how do you figure out tax..like i know you multiply it by like 1.???? anyone know what the rest of the number is? i know it depends on where you life...i live in saint louis missouri.

7.616% is the sales tax rate for St Louis. So take the sales price and multiply it by .07616 or multiply it by 7.616 AND hit the % sign on your calculator.

Where I live, the tax is 6% unless it's a car or restaurant tax is 7%, etc. So, let's say I'm going to buy a new tv at Walmart. Take the price, and multiply it by .06. So, if the tv is $450, the tax would be $27.00.

Multiply it by .07616 to get the tax alone or 1.07616 to get the price with the tax included.
