When new updates are installed, should the previous be removed? Add and Remove Programs show many updates.

Just in case it wasn't clear enough according to a few rude people(not all), I asked because the list just keeps getting longer. So if it's an update shouldn't the previous get replaced by new 1? Looks like an add-to not update. (to the smarta...es who answered w/attitude)

No, of course not. When new updates come out, they update what is needed now, not what was needed last year. If you remove the old updates they will be detected when you do an update session and you will have to re-install them.

What kind of question is this? If you remove the updates the the security flaws will be visible again. New security updates patch new security flaws.

When you update it should automatically replace the old files/softwares.
