Because of difference in engine design could contribute to this effect.
A traditional axial flow turbine(all intake atmospheric gasses are passed through the core engine and used to turn the turbine) , low by-pass (same as traditional axial flow turbine, with exception small amount of atmoshperic gasses never pass through the core engine), Medium by-pass (even greater atmoshperic gasses never pass through the core engine) and Hi-bypass (least amount of atmospheric gasses pass through core engine)will produce a different density of a contrail at a given time and given altitude given the amount of moisture in the air.
This diffence in the path of atmospheric gassed through the engines produce the difference in the contails you can see at a given time in a day with different aircraft. As well as other factors such as engine setting for approach. Or a greater amount of moister content in a given place in space in a given time (the gasses in the atmoshpere are at constant motion, changing what you can see in a given spot from one minute to the next).

If you are attentive to contrail formation and duration, you will notice that they can rapidly dissipate or spread horizontally into an extensive thin cirrus layer. How long a contrail remains intact, depends on the humidity structure and winds of the upper troposphere. If the atmosphere is near saturation, the contrail may exist for sometime. On the other hand, if the atmosphere is dry then as the contrail mixes with the environment it dissipates. So may be these jets are flying at different heights...and hence the formation & non-formation of contrails in each case...

It depends on the conditions at altitude, which changes from day to day, same as on the ground.
Even flying at a slightly different altitude can have a huge difference, look at clouds, they have a bottom layer below which there is no condensation; at that altitude conditions change just so that a cloud can be present, lower and the water remains in the form of invisible vapor instead of water droplets in suspension.
But I already answered that, didn't I?

I think it has to do with the speed of the plane and the shape of the wing, The lower the profile of the wing and the slower the plane flies the less the condensation builds up on the leading edge before being pushed across the wing and into the air.

depends on the moisture in the air...since the air is always moving and the planes are moving at different altitudes, then some leave contrails and some not.

They're NOT at the same elevation. It's impossible to estimate the relative altitude of aircraft at cruising altitude from the ground. There can be significant differences in relative humidity at different altitudes and even a couple thousand feet can make all the difference sometimes.

i became born and raised as a JW too. i haven't left the business enterprise yet, yet I had a bad adventure with between the witness. It very almost have been given me kicked-out of the business enterprise. After that have, I felt like i could no longer believe all people interior anymore and that i finished partaking interior the conferences and distanced myself from others. I nonetheless pass to the dominion hall a week, because of the fact I nonetheless stay at my parent's place and that i do no longer see something undesirable from that. yet what I do is sit down there and hear then afterwards basically stay interior the motor vehicle whilst waiting for my brother and mom. i do no longer wanna make new acquaintances there anymore. i believe like they are going to betray me returned quickly. I nonetheless pray to Jehovah each night and that i'm rather valuable He knows what i'm feeling. it is common so you might experience to be disconnected, basically pray and tell Him each little thing which you're feeling and that i'm rather valuable issues would be ok quickly. we are basically used to having our acquaintances around that are Witnesses too, yet attempt making new acquaintances and you does no longer experience disconnected anymore. desire this helps! :)

jet engines give off a lot of heat which causes vapor to form
like a cloud behind it. hence the term ;(vapor trail)
some of the newer fan jets burn cleaner and not so hot.

You got it right when you said "roughly the same elevation", because they aren't.
