They are in only TWO categories
1 ) Parasitic fungi = they exist on living beings and cause diseases in plants and animals
Rust and smut diseases in cereals like wheat and sorghum are caused by PARASITIC FUNGI .
2 ) saprophytic fungi = They exist on dead ,nonliving organic matter .
Mucor or bread mold grows on a piece of bread.
Mushroom grows on dead wood.
Only green plants are producers all other organisms are consumers.
Plant eating animals like cattle are herbivores .

they do not belong to any of these catagories, carnivores, omnivores, and herbivores are catogorized by what they eat. producers turn sunlight into glucose. Fungi don't photosynthesize, or eat. they are decomposers, they help with the breakdown of other carbon based lifeforms.

Fungi don't actually fit into any of these groups.
Fungi can best be described as decomposers, saprophytes, and sometimes parasites. Consumers or heterotrophs.

It depends on how specific you want to be. Do you want to include the fungivores, the piscivores, the frugivores, the insectivores, the detritivores, the saprivores, the florivores, and others? If you just want generalizations, the 4 you have listed are fine...
