And told the world that the Bible was a total work of fiction? But, even tho, it still was good for us to read it and follow it.

If Jesus came to me and said "Hey, Kimmie, that book your reading is all made up!" I would look my brother in the eyes and say "Well, then, it's made up BUT it's a darn good book and it got me through some of the most difficult times in my life and it doesn't matter to me whether or not it is factual because it changed my life for the better anyway!"

Then we would be in the same mess the Mormons are in now trying to explain all the False Scriptures like Book of Abraham , Book of Mormon ect. I guess we could tell them to pray about it and hope for a warm fuzzy feeling. Or we could just admit we made the whole thing up and refund all the tithe money. Naaaa, lets stick with the warm fuzzies. We could tell them they could all be Gods and have their own planets. Been working good so far, right?

If it's fiction, it's bad fiction. I'll take Philip Roth over the bible any day.

Then that would make God fiction. Then there would be no God to come to us. Then this question would not exist.

So basically God would be telling us something we already knew. Except for the following the Bible part.

Are you really going to follow a book revolving around a racist, homophobic, misogynistic, vindictive, control-freak deity?

It is impossible to completely follow. God told moses to smite his enemies. But Jesus said to love our enemies.

But if God told me that, I would say, "Does that mean adultery is OK?"

I would be kind of disappointed but I know that God wouldn't lie, so I would end up accepting it.
