How do you know when a guy is really busy or is just making an excuse not to go out with you? If you ask him to go somewhere with you and he says he has rehearsal or has to write a paper or something like that.

To clarify, I'm not dating this guy. I asked him to go to a party and he said he had to work on a paper and said "well, we'll see, but i doubt it", referring to whether he would be able to come.

If he seems untroubled by the fact he can't see you then I would guess you're not a high priority to him.

it is not so much in what he says he has to do instead, but how often he will use an excuse to be too busy to see you.
If it happens a couple times in a row, it would assume its a blowoff. If it happens and he does not go out of his way to tell you a time he would be available it is also a blowoff.
I know that I get busy a lot too, but if I am asked to do something that I cannot, I will ask the person if it can be done at a later time so I can join if I am truly interested in being with them

He may really be busy but if you keep asking and he continues to have excuses then ask him what would be a good time to go to a movie or out for dinner. If he can not come up with a date or time then he is probably not interested. Good luck!

i'd say that if he makes up little excuses like having to write a paper, or seeing some friends, hes blowing you off... but otherwise hes just busy.

MY boyfriend was like that and then I saw him making out with this one chick after school and I went up to him and kicked him while he was kissing her and I said dude you should know better!!!! But ask him to do something with you tonight and maybe he will say yes and spend more time with him!!! He might be hiding something too emberesing to show!!!!

Depends on if it keeps happening and he never really takes you out. Just let it go for a little bit, dont call him. Because if thinks your smothering him, he wont call, then again,if he thinks he's loosing you, he might come around.

he's probably telling the truth. however after about the 3rd or 4th time of telling you he can't without offering an alternative date or suggestion or even a "maybe some other time", I'd move on.... he already has. :-/

that's what it is..I tried to see this guy that i was talking to and he straight blew me off.i was going to his house so that he can make me dinner. and he "said" he went to bed(Yeah Sure) but i havent seen him yet and its been 4 weeks. so thats a good example
