It's because of the SRA uprising, which is the Squirrel Republican Army rebellion that has been going on since 1521.
The squirrel rebel forces took up arms against the birds for not allowing them to practice their own religion and preventing them from speaking the traditional squirrel language.
The birds were enforcing a new religion and a new language on the squirrels, and that is when the rebellion started, and it has been an ongoing fight between the two parties ever since.

My dad shoots squirrels that attempt this right here. and my dad is an surprising shot, he makes use of insects (bee's wasps and so on.) for objective practice. i'm an surprising shot too, yet no longer something compared to my dad.
