I really like this hairstyle: http://wwwimage.cbs.com/primetime/ghost_whisperer/bios/images/big/pt_ghostwhisperer_main_bio_hewitt_01_photo.jpg

My hair is already very long and layered, but it isn't curly or wavy. Is it possible to perm my hair like this?

I would like to have hair that can take care of itself (besides washing, of course.) I don't want to have to spend time fixing it every morning or buy a whole bunch of expensive products for it. I'd like it to stay the way it is in the picture; I don't want it to frizz or poof out the next day.

Feel free to recommend something else, if you know that this kind of hair isn't what I'm looking for.

As a man, I think that hairstyle is very nice and soft. You should most definitely go for it!

I don't think that you would be able to get a perm like this. It's pretty relaxed and you might save yourself cost and trouble (I have had a perm they are a huuuuge pain in the ***) by just styling it that way. By a quick look I can see that it's been done with a curling iron (maybe curlers) and product, not with a perm. I know that you said that you didn't want to spend a lot of time styling but using a curling iron isn't all that hard when it's a simple style like that. Keep in mind that perms are hard on your hair and if you plan on coloring or anything in the near future, forget it as the perm will fry it for a while. Basically, to get your hair to look like this in like fifteen minutes, all you need is a large barrelled curling iron, hairspray, and some heat serum. After your hair is dry, run a dab of serum through your hair, and then take inch wide sections and roll them around the iron. Spray with strong hold hairspray and you should be good to go.

I have naturally curly ( think Tina Turner on a Caucasian) and perming is a great idea, but the only down side is you can't wash your hair for at least 24 hours. Perming is not a good idea if you have a lot of layers, minimal is best. If you want a style similar to the picture, some maintenance comes with it; you can't just wake up and expect your hair to be that way. You might have to buy some de-frizz mousse to put in your hair and a diffuser attachment for your blow drier. Other than that, perming is a great idea and the results will totally make up for how much money you spend! Good luck and best of wishes,

I like the hairstyle. You probably could get a perm that would look like that at the salon, but it probably wouldn't look like that when you try to fix it. (Experience)

Panteen has a new line of styling products out. I just saw the commercial a few minutes ago. I can't remember what the name of it is, (look the next time you're at Wal-Mart, shouldn't be too hard to find). One of the girls in the commercial was able to use the stuff on her hair and make it look like that just be scrunching it. Again, it might not really work in real life, but it would be worth a try and alot cheaper than a perm.

i think its pretty, but i dont know if you can perm the hair like that. but i dont know for sure. usually wavy or curly hair need some sort of hair product,( not necessarily expensive), so the hair doesnt get frizzy from the weather.

Your basically asking for like magic hair! There is no way its gonna stay like that and it wont turn frizzy without some work! curly hair is hard to take care of i mean you can only brush it wen its wet or else its gonna frizz

but good luck anyways

Youll need it

Her hair is definitely meant for someone with curly - wavy hair.. blow your hair out then curl it... then use hairspray and separate the curls.

but yeah i think a perm would definitely do that, but keep in mind... i know 2 girls who got perms and their hair was AMAZING when it was permed and then they grew it out and now their hair sucks!

^ michell g.. its not magic hair lmao. my hair was like that this morning!

i don't think you should get this style b/c perms are that great you have seen legally blonde right..not good. I say leave your hair straight and maybe get it cut like sienna miller or just add some bangs.. that will update your hair do
