I once heard a young Mormon man saying that Mormons had received extra knowledge about Easter (presumably from their prophets), and that Easter did not fall in the springtime at all. Another Mormon nervously interrupted him and told him to be quiet, saying that people were not "ready" for the information.
Another time, I thought I heard a Mormon mentioning to a bunch of other Mormons that it was Easter Sunday. The strange thing is, the month was October, and the day was cold and windy. WEIRD!!! Halloween was on its way.
Has anybody else heard this possible "secret"?
(Note that Easter always corresponds with Jewish Passover, described as a springtime celebration commemorating the liberation of the Jews from slavery in Egypt.)

I recall hearing that too. The comment about not being ready is characteristic of the church.

Easter, or the Christian celebration of Christ rising from the dead, happened during Passover, and that's in the spring.
Most Mormons, if they give it a date, say it was April 6, which seems TO ME to be a rather holy day as far as we Mormons are concerned.

None of what either of you said is official Mormon doctrin. The bigfoot thing is only a stupid rumor that only the blind believe in. No Mormon prophet ever said either of them. I've been an active Mormon for most of my life and I've never heard that Easter was in October.

How can a person not have heard of Mormons? Unless you live in a cave somewhere, there are Mormons in pretty much every city, plus missionaries, plus houses of worship. A person would have to be seriously isolated not to have encountered Mormons. Plus, the Book of Mormon is easily available just about everywhere. It didn't take Mitt Romney to break the news to me that Mormonism exists.

If the Christian Easter is supposed to correspond with an actual event, why is there this process to figure the date? Why is it a different day every year? Because it's a shanghaied pagan festival.
I grew up LDS, btw, and never heard anything about this.

No, lol. I'm a Mormon. Haha. No, really, we believe that Easter (if you're referring to the death and ressurection of Christ) occurred in April. I don't know what they were saying about October - nothing happens in October except for General Conference, lol.

1) Easter is not a Scriptural holiday. Do your research.
2) You can't use a solar calendar to judge lunar-based time periods, such as Scriptural feasts & time periods.
3) The first "Easter" happened during the Scriptural Feast of Passover.

I celebrate Jesus' life and resurrection every day of the year, I do not need Easter to do this so I really do not care what day it is on. Nowadays it seems Easter is more about chocolate then Jesus.

Mormons have lots of secret beliefs which are so weird they keep them a secret.
Since all of their prophets are false prophets, starting with Joseph Smith, I would not pay much attention to them.
