Evolution is not a being, granting things like emotion. Love is beneficial to the species. Our "hearts" and brains definitely evolved.
Love may not come from science, but it can be explained by it. Plenty of knowledge comes from science, like everything that is known about how the world works.

First of all, you don't love with your heart. That's just a pretty colloquialism.
Secondly, god didn't give knowledge. He denied it, and used lies and fear to keep Adam and Eve in line. Only when the serpent told the truth, and they ate from the tree of knowledge of good and evil, did they attain the ability to use their minds.
Third, the hard facts about love are this: The feelings of love that a person feels, are actually the release of endorphines into the bloodstream. These chemicals are the same ones that eating chocolate, having sex, or doing heroin release. They are a product of evolution.

Love is a chemical process in the brain as are most of the other emotions. The emotions evolved with the brain, there is no need for gods. Some cultures have no gods but they still have love and all the other emotions.

People THINK "love" is a nice way of saying "lust." Which is a pretty sad, depraved, cynical, Freudian way of looking at life. How does that explain mother-child love? Friend love? The love for mankind that compels someone to walk into a hospital and give their kidney to someone they've never met? What is the evolutionary benefit of those?
God is love.
