Especially towards the nature aspect.

'require' was just bad wording, jeesh. It's not like they have an 'edit' button on the questions.

Some Wiccans don't believe in any deity but see the God and Goddess as symbolic archetypes representing qualities in nature and in themselves. If that still doesn't seem right, you can just be a generic Neopagan.

The only religion I know about that doesn't include deity worship is Buddhism. Shinto worships multi-deities, it is referred to in Japan as Kami worship(Kami means Gods). They also believe in ancestor worship, which is to say that when their ancestors die, they become kami themselves, so its an evergrowing deity pool if you will. Wicca uses deities so you can have something to focus on, to request help from, to direct your magic, and worship to. You could always read up on shamanism, though i'm unsure of the finer points. I don't think it requires deity worship, it focuses mostly on healing and the sacredity of nature. If you really like the ideals of Wicca, you could just view the God and Goddess as nature personified, which is what the pagans of old did. They beleived that the trees and sky were deities in and of themselves. That is why Cerunnos is called the Green God, or Horned God(in some traditions). Just some things to think about.

Looking at your question, I have the feeling that you didn't quite get the picture of what Wiccan beliefs are.

No offence intended - it's quite common, and coming from a Christian culture, almost unavoidable.

In Wicca, deities are nothing but thought forms, that is, archetypical symbols that we use as energty repositories and focus for inner or outer work.

You can "invent" a deity yourself, and work with it. It will work. But it didn't exist "per se" before you created it, right?

Our ancestors did the same. They created a series of thought forms that responded to their needs and desires. And they've been strengthened with the thougths and energy of millions of people during thousands of years.

Do they exist? Yes and no.

The deity of Wicca is the Multiverse itself, including you and me, and what connects us all.

Buddhism is pretty similar in believing in the sacredness of nature and self-discovery but doesn't require belief in a deity.

you could just believ ein nature and be happy living the druidic lifestyle. Not like Celtic Druidic... that was a bit odd with the whole burning people thing, but just being a nature lover is fine with a lot of people and there are a lot of them out there. And if that doesn't work, just believe what you will. But try to keep it safe and try not to hurt yourself or anyone else, ok?
Blessed be.

I call myself an eclectic pantheist. I revere nature in all of its entirety, but do not worship any gods. I personally am of the belief that if there are gods/goddesses/godlike beings out there and they are as powerful as religions claim them to be, then they could care less what we do.

Many Pantheists don't believe in a Diety, just Nature. So Pantheist Pagans would be your closest.

you don't have to believe in a deity to be Wiccan. I assume you are referring to a "personified" deity, eg. a god or goddess with human attributes. I am wicca and I don't believe in a personified god but I worship nature.

whatever you want. believe what you believe about the world. theres no need to follow a specific religion based on what you know of the universe. go with your heart and always have faith. thats all you need. no religion will save you...only your faith.
