I'm looking for creative ways to ask my friends to be bridesmaids, any ideas? Did you ask your bridesmaids in a unique way?

Seriously most people hate being bridesmaids. It's really expensive and a lot of work. I would just call and ask them personally.

You can make a card and ask them through it. You can include a picture of you two, maybe even a poem.
Or you can play a joke. You can buy old bridesmaid dresses (think big, poofy, shiny, etc.) and wrap the dresses in a box. Give your girls a card asking them to be in your wedding, then include how you already picked their dresses and let them open the boxes. See the surprise/shock in their faces when opening the boxes with 80's dresses. Cute & funny!

I didn't haveto ask my maid of honour because i was my sister's maid of honour and, since we don't have any other sisters, she just assumed she was mine also. It was always an understanding we had that we'd be each others maids of honour.
My bridesmaids are my two best friends and i just came right out and asked them when we were hanging out one day. If you'd like to make it a little more formal maybe you could take them out for lunch or dinner and ask them.

I had no bridesmaids. I had a maid of honor. And I didn't ask her.
When I told her about my engagement, I turned to her and said, "You have to be my maid of honor!"
I think your first answer for this question is a cute idea.

I did have any bridesmaids. I have been to and in sooo many weddings and the girls only end up in huge fights and arguements. I didn't want the drama..so everyone had to be a guest only

I just asked my one and only maid of honor, I didn't have any bridesmaids, I would be really honored if you would stand with me on my wedding day and me my maid of honor.

I sent mine all puzzles that when put together spelled "will you do me the Honor, and be my bridesmaid? I printed it out on card stock and then just cut it into a few pieces. A little cheesy - but the girls all liked it.
