My guy friend told me that when you first get in a relationship you're not supposed to care about the other person that much. This sounds like total bull. After all, aren't relationships based on CARING?

I should probably add that he said "you don't care about the person that much in the beginning, it grows over time." This seems so backwards though.

yes it's true.If you care too much early on you might come off as clingy or needy or insecure. The caring gets deeper as the relationship progresses over time.

What kind of reasoning is that? Attraction is the first thing on the list and I have had a few attractions in my lifetime. I always
cared a lot for the person. I was a teenager in several of these
relationships, but yes I cared for the person. When I met my
soul mate it was the same. But more!! Yes, you are right.

Yeah your friend seems a little naive, if people don't care about each other, then they shouldn't be in relationships at all.

I can see his point here. If you were seeing someone for two weeks and they broke it off, it wouldnt bother you as much as if you had been seeing them for two years.

The better youi know someone the more you grow to like and love them........its very rarely instant dying love.
