The substitute butter sprays are good. But you could try some parmesean cheese with a little Italian seasoning mixed in. Add a little salt and you'll have a great topping for salads and veggies too.

Almost anything you use except for the butter-flavored sprays will give you just about the same amount of calories as a small pat of butter.
Personally, this is one time that I wouldn't sacrifice taste for the minute amount of calories that you'd be saving. Cut back somewhere else, and "spend" those calories on making the corn taste delicious. :-)

Use that fake spray butter - not only does it taste almost the same with almost no calories or fat, it's easier to put on corn than real butter.

A butter substitute would work, or even a bit of olive oil. . .If the corn is sweet enough you could just season it with salt and pepper and go without.

I dont know but do you really want the butter? Because if you are eating healthier butter can always be put aside sometimes or you could eat it very seldom. Which ever works for you!

Yeah, smothering it in butter & salt isn't such a good idea. You could use an oil-based spread, or non-hydrogenated margarine (not that hard to find). You could choose any herb or spice that you like to replace the salt, or you can buy "low-sodium" salt. Personally, I like the salt, and a little bit won't really hurt you.

I would skip the butter substitute and just sprinkle with salt. If it's sweet corn that is actually sweet, you will never miss it.

I would do a very small amount of butter, some things you just can't skimp on...I would also use some sea salt and fresh cracked black pepper

How about a tiny bit of olive oil, coarse salt, pepper, and maybe some chopped herbs - like chives?
