One of my cats does that as well, and if I don't wake up and talk to her, she tickles my nose with her whiskers. With her, I think it is to tell me she is coming to bed now, as she always cuddles down and goes to sleep after I have spoken to and petted her. Maybe yours just wants to tell you the same thing. It is a sign of love I guess, I just wish she would decide to come to bed a bit earlier!

My cat does that and also nuzzles the top of my head during the night. She's a Himalayan, which is half Siamese. I think she's trying to get me to pet her and pay attention to her. I think they just like to interact with us. Siamese have a different personality than most cats and they say they get very attached to their "human".

He's just saying hi, I'm here. Because they are basically covered with fur, most cats don't know what a cold nose against your face feels like. They just know that faces are sensitive and where many sensory organs originate from so he knows if he touches you with his cold nose, you'll know. Be glad his nose is cold (which means he's healthy). And at least he isn't like slapping your face (hi there!) or parking his butt in your face.

My cat nuzzles my neck every night when I go to bed. This is her remembering her "Mother", She was taken away from her mom too young. It is a prelude to going to sleep I guess it relaxes her as a pacifying or nursing her mom would.
