I would think that with that attitude you are going to be totally disappointed if you do enlist. I spent 20 years in the service and there were a lot of people that never complete their first tour. They found everything morally wrong and nothing ever pleased them. To survive in the military one must keep their mouth shut and ears open. Remember you are enlisting, You are promising the government that you will uphold the Constitution of these United States. Honor YOUR commitment and the Military Service will honor you.

Joining the military should never be a question on morals. You join the military to serve your country and honor of the country. You will learn all this at camp or hang around some people who love it.Good luck!

There is nothing morally wrong with enlisting. The military credo is the same as the police to serve and protect against all invaders foreign and domestic.

My advise is to stay out of the military (If your thinking of joining that is) until your country is under the threat of invasion and occupation, only then would it be honorable for anybody to join.

Believe me If you join the military at the moment you are not defending your country. You are invading another persons country (Iraq etc) so that contractors (oil companies, banks, consumer companies like McDonald's, and many others) can move in and use the place to boost the western economy and make the share holders happy.

If you want to join the military and have the honor and pride of defending the soil you grew up on wait until it is under the threat of invasion. 9/11 fizzled out ages ago and Osama bin Laden hasn't bean seen since he went into hiding in Afghanistan. The Iraq war had nothing to do with 9/11 it was about getting rid of Saddam Hussein.
The west wanted to get rid of Saddam because he invaded Kuwait which is homed to about 25% of the worlds oil
and is probably part of the back bone of the world economy. Britain profited heavily from billions of dollars of Kuwaiti investments and bank deposits for oil.

So in other words if you want to risk your own life to make rich people richer and make money that you could make else where, join the military but you will not be defending your country as many Westerners falsely believe.

If your asking me weather or not its morally correct to join I say no because there is a fine line between killing people for a nations prosperity and defending your country when its being invaded.

Gays have the final to serve contained interior the U. S. military, they won't have the means to no remember if be open approximately their sexuality or their relationships. many human beings serve who others understand they sexuality, yet even by using way of many have no problem with this, there are people who ought to. as quickly as you're bunking with numerous human beings it does advance precise right into a controversy plenty because of the fact it could to have male and lady workers bunking contained in the same quarters. When you enlist in the military you will be working for your country and the citizens of your country. Are you for or against them? Would you help your neighbor after a natural disaster or steal from him? Would "snitch" on your neighbor if you saw him selling drugs or dragging a child into his basement? Laws are only words on paper if there is no one willing to enforce those laws and that means someone in uniform carrying a gun.

Except for MAB at the end there are 20 answers here including mine that say there is nothing wrong with joining the military morally. If you have to think about it that way your already behind the power curve and likely to stay there. It's about honor, serving your country and protecting the freedoms that have been given to you by those that served before me, with me, and after me.........................

That depends on your personal beliefs. I think it an honor to serve one's country, regardless of whether you agree with the current administration or not. You are serving the people of your Nation, not just the government.
