Other simillar names would be appreciated too eg: black, tiger, large cat, bobcat, ...most anything that would relate to large, black cat.
Other languages are helpful too. Irish, Welch, Old French, Old English, Gaelic, etc. Thanks

Cat is an ancient Celtic word.because the ancient Celtic world had cats. All the big cats (panthers, leopards, lions, etc.) come from countries outside the Celtic expansion, so any words in the modern Celtic languages for those are just going to be phonetic loan words (as pointed out by James O).

Have you tried Celtic Dictionaries online? Which Celtic Language: Irish or Scottish Gaelic, (Q Celtic languages)? Welsh or Breton (P Celtic langues)? There are also recently exinct Celtic Manx(Q) and Cornish (P). On Gramadach I found:cat for cat, leon for lion(like Spanish),tiogar for tiger and pantar for panther in Irish Gaelic dictionary.
