As described in the 'Old Testament', the Torah of the Israelites, I would have to say that anyone who could say no, obviously hasn't read those disgusting pages. And that's a long, long time before the Yashua bin Jusef stuff.
It starts with Abraham, and continues right the way through to Yashua. Sacrifice your firstborn son, ordered to a man in his 80's who had been childless his entire life ! The litany of insanity goes on and on, just read the Exodus and Leviticus texts, millions slaughtered, including men, women, old people, children, even the livestock.
The Yashua story is a relatively minor conclusion, with the actual core tale itself being heavily tainted. For example the criminal Pilate was supposed to have released at the Passover festival was called Jesus Barabbas. Jesus is the Greek rendering of Yashua, and Barabbas ? Bar is the patronymic indicator, it just means 'son of', ands Abbas is the Aramaic for 'Father', i.e. Jesus Barabbas is Yashua, son of the Father. If this man was released then who was crucified ?
What is historical fact is that Rome occupied Palestine from 63 bc for some 200 years, and in that time the bloodshed was occasionally extreme, the revolt of 66 ad lasted four years and decimated the Israelite populations, most of the Zealots, amongst whom many of the followers of yashua were numbered were almost entirely wiped out, finally at the famous seige of Masada.
I am sure that it is this very bloody history of the region, and the semitic races generally, that has lead to the current day catastrophe.
I have said and written many times, when some peripatetic 'God' comes up to your tribe and offers to make them his 'Chosen People' make damn sure you know exactly what it is that you are being 'chosen' for !

maybe youre not getting the full picture here.
IF - and im sayin if
there is a god, then he/she/it created an entire universe. Time, planets, black holes, suns, moons, all the way down to the tiniest virus, microbe, neutron, atom.
such a being doesnt have to justify its actions, has no-one to answer to.
such a being would have intelligence and knowledge and plans beyond our relatively tiny tiny minds.
so arguing that god is psychopathic is ridiculous - what could we know of the truth of gods intentions and gods actions and what lies beyond our vision.

God's plan of happiness is the only way it could be done. It satisfies both the law of justice and provided for mercy. It could be no other way. It was a loving, compassionate, and glorious plan. Christ had to do what he did.

So you're saying he sould of thrown a party and had cake and ice cream because we are sinners?
Jesus CHOSE to follow what God said. Jesus could of said "forget it! I'm going to live my life!" but He didn't! he died and rose again!
God is not psychopathic because in His plan was Jesus rising on the third day!

He must be. Why else would he say he is not going to forgive our sins unless we torture his son to death? I mean was that really the only way he could think of?

that makes sense. i think Jesus embodies masochism. that's what all martyrs are: masochists. god is a sadist. S&M all the way, baby.
i think god is psychadelic! i'll trip some acid and then i'm like, whoa man, and everything is moving all around me, and then god is entering my brain and telling me everything he knows. it's crazy, man, real crazy.

Jesus is God made flesh. So God himself came down and died for us. Richard Dawkins may not understand the trinity too well.

It overlooks one thing. Jesus was WILLING to suffer and die for us. Instead of finding fault, we should be grateful for the extraordinary love that shown for us. (John 3:16)
