I have an IBM x41 and i would like to upgrade to Vista but i am concerned about the restore partitons which IBM put on the hard disk being deleted/altered. Has anyone upgraded to vista with an IBM??

What i am worried about is the IBM restore system as i think it has the backups of all the win xp setup compresssed.

No, i haven't, but if you upgrade to vista, all the restore points will be erased and replaced with vista restore points since vista runs it FAT32 hdd, and XP rins in NTSF hdd

Unless you like to see your X41 crawl, dont waste your time, max RAM on that is 1.5GB, even if you max out the memory, I doubt it will be any faster.

My advise don't upgrade yet. wait 6 months. everyone is having problems with it.
